Scale I Build

  1. Hi all, been looking for an AFX (later cast by TM Resin) 1969 Dodge Dart Post Sedan to purchase since 2016, when I first got my 1:1 '73 Dart Custom. I've wanted to recreate my car in 1:25 and this sedan's roof is the exact shape I need for my car.... I've been looking high and low on ebay (TM Resin's ebay had one but it sold before I could purchase, and the page has been empty for years), searched on Google since then, posted on scaleautomag, and still can't find one. I'll include a link to a scaleautomag build thread, as well as a couple pics of the body I'm looking for. Any offers, or info leading to this body would be very greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has this body and would be willing to cast a copy for me to purchase, that'd also be quite alright. Thank you all in advance 😁 Build thread for reference: http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/35/t/38646.aspx Notice the steeper angle of the rear windshield and the longer roof, as opposed to the two door. Front end, rear end, and new 4 door panel/pillars would be all I'd need body wise, if I can get ahold of this body.
  2. Hi folks, I got this recently from a modelling mate as a built kit amongst other stuff. As we all know, these days these Jo-Han kits come very expensive when bought new, so I took the opportunity to get this one at a very fair price, although it took quite some work because the front quarters had heavy dents on both sides since the kit was new. Of course, repairing those spots meant losing the beautiful "Dart 440" enblems, but that was the price to pay. I sanded down those spots and used Tamiya putty and sandable superglue for filling the dents. Then again sanding to make it fit to the body's contours. The result turned out okay in my eyes. Your feedback, as always, will be appreciated.

  4. I picked up this diecats Hemi Dart a month ago or so. These are selling on EBay for $200+! When one showed up damaged for less than half that, I jumped on it! It has broken attachment points for the base on the underside (which doesn’t bother me) and the hood trim is missing. It’s been sitting on my deathbed since I got it. I figured I would fabricate the missing trim. Here is a little photo selection from the process.
  5. here it is everybody. it is a revel 1968 dodge dart GSS painted Tamiya chrome silver. it has a wired distributer and the trim is the Molotow crome pen. it didn't turn out as good as I wanted but oh well its all a learning experience and the next one will be better. what do you think?
  6. Hello, here is my Dart from Mr. Norm`s kit.. Decals were poor condition, but i used that stripe and aircleaner decals from newer Hemi Dart kit.. Added plugwires and mudflaps and some custom "Mopar" license plates and some little decals too on windows.. I lowered front just a little bit, so stance looks much nicer now.. Paint is Tamiya TS-34 called Camel Yellow.. and for vinyl top, i just brush painted it with satin black.. Some red color also to give bit more attitude.. Commets are welcome..
  7. Not a bad kit, pleasure to build. Wish I'd have gone with black though. No engine picks, kit was missing some pieces for it. 8. How many of those among this forum have seen --let alone heard of --the 1971 and 1972 Dart 'Swinger Special' 340 models ? There were special order 340-powered , base model Dart Swinger hardtops , sold at two Western Canada dealerships : Crosstown and Crest View, located in Edmonton, Alberta and Regina Saskatchewan. http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com/2015/02/ghost-cars-1971-72-dodge-dart-swinger.html A friend of mine is currently restoring a gorgeous GB5 1972 model ( another 1972 model has been restored ; an FY1 model ) --- here's a photo of it and its present state-of-restoration . Note it barren appointments : colour-keyed rubber floormat ; no radio (note blockoff plate) ; base steering wheel ; and , not seen here ; no rear arm rests . Also , no power steering , and no power brakes ( 4 wheel drums ) . The black "Bumblebee" Stripe is a dealer-added embellishment . Few were built , and few remain .
  9. I hope I got this close. My only gripe with it is the "high-low" carb setup which messes up the hood alignment. Also, I wish I had done more homework before painting the intake manifold. It really needed to be the same hemi color.....
  10. I've been trying to post this model for several days, and the post always disappears. If this works, I'll add details later. Here's my old Jo-Han 62 Dodge Dart made into a base 2 door sedan pro street-type car.
  11. My Ray Bartone Dart, fun build, wired up..hope u all like.

  13. Hi again folks, here's a repost of the '68 Dart I made for the 2014 Cannonball run CBP. It's packing the 426 Cross Ram Hemi, two tone paint, (Chrysler Inferno Red and Gloss Black), and 3D printed rims modeled by myself in Blender 3D and printed via Shapeways. It also marks my very first attempt at Bare Metal Foiling, it's was done with a dull blade (forgot to pick up new lol) so it's probably not the best but I'm happy with it. Got loads more of respect for you guys that do all these chromed classics. I knew it wasn't easy but now I have a far better understanding of just how delicate this process is. Thanks for looking, more pics up shortly!
  14. Some pics of my first build in progress, i'd like some feedback! Thanks guys!

  16. My main entry for this years Cannonball Run CBP. Plans are to replicate the '68 Dart I have on Forza 4. I'll get a picture of it up at a little later on. Nothing wild or over the top just something a normal car guy with moderate building experience could pull off. Well maybe little above that. Starting point First order of business is to cut the doors and trunk lid open. The cuts ended up being very clean so I might have the body work and some base color on it over the weekend. Thanks for looking!
  17. I've an inquiry about the underchassis headers in the latest release of the 1968 Dart GTS / Hemi kit : I realise that the headers are for the Hemi engine ; however , would these work as well -- without modifications -- on the 383 / 440 engine ? I know that the Dick Landy SS/EA '68 Dart has big block A-body underchassis headers , but I don't want to pirate my Landy Dart just for its headers . If the Hemi's headers don't / won't work , are resin versions of the Landy SS/EA headers available ? Thanks
  18. This is one of my favorite builds.
  19. Along with my aforementioned Hart's Parts resin interior parts , I also received my 1972 - 1978 Dodge 14" deluxe wheel covers ( "W11" ) from our resident resin caster extraordinare , Missing Link Resins . The turnaround time from order-placed-to-my-mailbox was super quick ; a normal practise of Missing Link . Per usual , the parts were packaged with extra care ; some Michigan-area newspaper crumbles , with the parts themselves carefully placed in a size-appropriate ZipLoc baggie. The coveted parts are perfect reprlicas of Dodge's sales code "W11" deluxe wheel covers . The "1:1" versions were first released in 1972 as upgrade 'covers (versus the base modelles' hub caps) , and were around in one form or another through circa 1978 . The plating is , of course , top notch ; but these parts' beauty 'shines' in their accuracy ! How the heck did the part's master scale down the "DODGE" impressions on the covers' centres ??? The psudo cooling fins are righteous , too !! Take note , all ye whom are building 1972 & later Chargers , Challengers , Darts , Demons ( please cast another batch of your excellent 1972 Demon , Kevin !) , B-vans and D-100 pickups ! These are the right pieces for your builds ! Mine are going to find themselves on the soon-to-be-reissued 1975-1976 Dart Sport from Round2 . Kudos , Kevin , at Missing Link ! Highly Recommended !
