jjsipes Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 The weather has been beautiful this week in Maryland so, I decided to get another model painted. Dug out my 57 Del Rio Wagon. I used Tamiya Grey Primer, Tamiya Champagne Gold and Tamiya Mica Red. I thought the colors might look good together, what do you think. Need to Bare-Metal, clear and polish yet. I need to figure out interior color. I will be building the stock 312 cu in. with the supplied supercharger. I have some custom resin wheels I'm thinking about using, not sure yet. gman Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 That colour combo looks great. Would love to see it finished.
Sixx Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Wow! Fantastic color choice! That red is eye searing!! I dig it!
DumpyDan Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Wow! Fantastic color choice! That red is eye searing!! I dig it!I second that
wayne swayze Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Great colour choices! Looks like a winner to me!
espo Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Great looking color combo. What are you planning for the inset on the body side moldings ? Interior might look good using the same colors of the exterior.
MrBuick Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Very cool! I guess I need to pick one of these kits up.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I'm very partial to Tamiya Mica red. Always loved the color.
jjsipes Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Trying to get a feel for how the possible wheels wil look. I primed and sprayed them with Dulicolor Bumper Chrome.
jjsipes Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 What do you all think about a Red Interior? Trying to come up with something different color wise other than Tan or Black.
MrBuick Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I think a Red on Black interior would look great, especially with a darker tone of red.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Take it back to 1957.a lot of cars back then coordinated exterior & interior color schemes.I would do it in possibly a light tan & red 2 tone. Steve
mrm Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Great color, but personally not crazy about the wheels.
66belair Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 the color choice is great! I've got a couple in my stash to build and it appears to be a great kit.
jjsipes Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Found this Dark Red and thought I'd try it to see how it looked with the body colors. Not sure about it though. What do you all think?

gearhedjon Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 The colors of the car go great together. The dark interior color seems to go good with the body colors. Maybe 2 tone it with another color. IMO let the period of the car speak for the wheels. If more stock with the modified 312 how about chrome reverse rims. Those were popular during that time period. Have fun with it it's your personal expression
