Griff Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Decided to go mostly box stock on this, I only added a wired distributor and possibly wiring the battery cables. This is actually my first time trying to wire an engine, and i even followed the proper firing order,I'm happy with my results. I only wish I used a different color than gray, like red or something. The body was sprayed with Tamiya fine surface primer, and the finish color is Testors one coat lacquer "Mythical Maroon". Obviously the trim needs to be painted and some clear coat also. So far this car is actually keeping me motivated to finish it, hopefully more pics soon. n.
espo Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Very clean factory looking plug wires. I like the color you're using on this also.
Jonathan Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I gotta say, I think the paint looks just right on this!
Griff Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Thanks a lot to everybody, it means a lot. Real bummer happened today though. It took me this long to notice I was missing ALL the clear parts!! How could that happen?? I'm looking at the pieces on the directions and there is no way they were in the box when i opened it. I'm still somewhat new to models, got 4 complete builds under my belt, and some in progress, lessoned learned, Always take an inventory at the beginning of the build!

djmcguire Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Thanks, I filled out the request, 4-8 weeks for delivery IF they are in stock, fingers crossedI've found that pars from Revell usually show up in two weeks at the longest...it won't be a full 4-6 weeks I wouldn't imagine.
Griff Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 First time ever doing a decal this big and i'm satisfied with the results, but it was really tough to get it to lay down flat. Thankfully I had some micro set and micro sol to save the day, amazing what that stuff does to decals. Also got some interior work done, i love the race seats but they are lacking without a harness. Building will be coming to stop soon though, still waiting on my clear parts from revell.
Brutalform Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Looking real nice. I love this kit. I just bought the last two Hobby Lobby had today. These kits are getting harder to find lately. Did the clear pieces ever arrive? Any more progress?
SelineManson Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I've always wondered how you get the plug wires to stay in the distributor? Looks awesome though.
66belair Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 That is some nice work. If you only have a few builds under your belt you are ahead of the game.

This looks like a pre-wired distributor that comes with the wires already in the distributor body. To get them to stay in the OOB distributor I drill holes into the distributor and insert the wires into it with some CA on the ends.
