landman Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) While the paint dries, I am playing at building a V12 out of two Mickey Thompson 389's. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman
gatorincebu Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Chassis looks good .Paint job is smooth and has a nice shine to it ! Be Well Gator
landman Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 It is straight from the rattle can. I may clear it once I have the decals on. After all it is a truck, so that is likely a fairly accurate level of shine. I wonder if you can tell I'm trying to talk myself out of polishing.

I think it looks great just like it is . But you might get the decals on then change your mind ? lol Seriously I think it looks good.I would leave it alone, Be Well Gator
cowboy rich Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I think your paint looks great I'd most likely let it be. Some great work going on ...as always.
Mopar - D Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Pat the paint looks great and if you polish there's always that risk of burn through.
landman Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) Started adding details to the cab. I'm debating whether the three bars in the grille should be chrome or cream. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman
Chariots of Fire Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 The color is great! Use some BMF on the grill! Headlight surrounds too!
tbill Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 just got caught up on this build, all i can say is WOW! looks fantastic so far
Chariots of Fire Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 If there is enough shine on the paint so that the decals do not ghost, I'd leave it alone. Looks good the way it is.
landman Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 (edited) Added the windshield, headlights. BMF'd the grille bars and the headlight pods. The headlight pods weren't a successful job so I peeled the BMF off. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman
landman Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) Noticed that the 1:1 has some vent windows. So I made some. BMF'd some half round for a molding and applied it to the edges. Added some Chief Joseph door handles. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman

landman Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) I thought the firewall looked sort of bare. Added a parts bin voltage regulator and a semi scratchbuilt wiper motor. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman
Mopar - D Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Pat your detailing is fantastic on your tanker

landman Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Very little done. Finished the wiper motor and started on a harness of sorts coming out from under the dash. Edited December 18, 2020 by landman
Chariots of Fire Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Hey, Pat! It's the widgets that count! Details like what you are doing go a long way toward making a model a cut above the rest. Keep up the good work!
