Chariots of Fire
They will be available through AITM and I will announce when they become available. There are still some parts to be cast and they have been sent to AITM for that purpose.

rekcirb13
Actually, Anthony, prior to being renamed the DCR, the old MDC trucks had dark green cabs and yellow bodies. rekcirb13
That has to be a Mass Highway rig before they put the seal on the door! Orange with black fenders back in the day! Didn't know you lurked around here!! Hi Charlie, You'd be amazed at some of the places I show up! (LOL) You're right about this being a new (at the time) Mass. DPW truck. This was a delivery photo taken before the application of the door seals and license plates, in front of the International Harvester dealer on Mystic Ave. in Medford. Your cab is looking really good. Looks like there are a lot of guys interested in the castings! Keep up the good work! That has to be a Mass Highway rig before they put the seal on the door! Chariots of Fire
Much of the casting has been done but I ran into a slight glitch. In order to get an IH 345 V8 under the hood the firewall has to be moved back some and reshaped. That means the floorboard as well. Working on that now. Other than that things should be good to go soon.
fairlane1320
Now I really want one! I wonder why Ertl Never made this as a kit, It would have been a big seller! Fire, dump, farm, box, tanker, Endless choices of work trucks!!!! That reminds me of the Oven Fresh Bakery trucks in my neighborhood when I was a kid. Chariots of Fire
Just finishing up the reconstituted firewall/floorboard. It will be sent to AITM tomorrow. That concludes all of the pieces for casting. Now it's up to AITM to tell us when he is satisfied with all of the pieces going together. When he tells me he's good with it the details will be posted. What are you mounting on this for a body?
Chariots of Fire
Charles, that is absolutely beautiful! You captured the lines exactly. I will also be getting one or two from AITM. Can't WAIT! What are you mounting on this for a body? I have two projects. One involves a brush truck model with the bars and all and the other will be a wrecker that was a local feature back in the 60's and 70's. Chariots of Fire
Just for kicks I laid on some nice dark green paint to the Loadstar mainly to see how good the casting was. It showed up a couple of small places where some touchup would be in order but all and all I think the result is ok. The International in the hood sides is a decal that was made from an image scanned into my graphics program and printed on the ALPS printer. The hood ornament was coated with Molotow chrome and then painted with black and red for the IH symbol. Molotow chrome was used on the headlight trim rings with regular Testors silver in the center portion. A clear lens will be added later. Never fails! I thought I got all of the dust off before taking the photos!!
mikemodeler
She's a beauty Charles, anxious to see this for sale and get a copy for myself! How's the engine coming along?
Chariots of Fire
I built up an engine from the castings of the 345. It barely fits between the modified firewall and the grill. Waiting for the rest of the castings to be done of the firewall and floorboard so I can put it all together.
plastic trucker
Great looking truck you've built.

1930fordpickup
The green cab looks good in that color. The above castings look very nice.

mikemodeler
That is looking great Charles! Are they planning on offering an engine for it? I know you were working on casting one, maybe it will be an option?
Chariots of Fire
I think you will have to provide your own engine. The IH Scout has the IH 345 engine that was used quite a bit. I do have some castings of it but they are not the best. Needs some cleaning up.
Dieselhead
Thankfully providing one's own power doesn't seem so hard, the IH 345 looks fairly similar to a smallblock ford to me (with some cursory looks anyway) but with a different intake manifold and front dress, but they don't seem so bad to stratch.
