First completed kit of 2018. This is the old Ertl issue of the Cougar, you don't see so many of these CJ428s built as you do the Eliminators.

Overall not a bad kit considering it's pretty much the old 1969 annual kit with a different engine and seats!. The only glaring omission from these kits is a centre console, so I adapted a console from a Revell 70 Torino, not perfect but does the job. Painted with a spray can, Ford red, wet sanded and polished.couldn't use the decals as they fell apart when I tried using them....its only the 1 decal on the hood anyway.

Hope you like it .....

Very nice Gary.  I like the subtle sheen of the paint - not over the top glossy.

Thanks JC !, I'm not a fan of that dipped in syrup clearcoat look, the real cars were never like that back in the day I'm sure.

Looks great! Thanks for the heads-up about the decals. Will have to remember to film them when I get around to building mine. Well done and model on! B)

Looks great! I did the trade show/catalog build for AMT back in the 1990s for that kit. (I also dug through my old magazine collection to find an ad that showed the hood stripe graphic they used for reference.) The stripes on my build were trimmed down from the Eliminator decals.

Nice job.  For next time: the front sub rails are part of the body, not a separate subframe like say, a Camaro has so no need to pick them out in black.  ;)

Thanks Stu, I couldn't find many reference photos of the underside so wasn't too sure, that's handy to know.

Looks like I must have seen that photo before Dave !, I cloned your model lol. That's the only decal that I had to use on the body and it fell apart in the water unfortunately, I should have known better considering they were 24 year old decals.
