Jim B Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Awesome job, Ray. I don't think I would want to be submerged in that contraption, but it's an interesting idea. We all live in a wooden submarine! A wooden submarine! A wooden submarine! (Apologies to The Beatles.)
cobraman Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 Thank you Jim. Now to build something not quite so difficult.
cobraman Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 As I built this thing I always thought it as a wooden football.
vintagedragcrazy Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Why not man you did an awesome job and how much cooler of a kit could they make!!!! vince
cobraman Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 Thanks Vince. There was a couple times I was not sure I would finish it. Some parts needed were not included and I had to figure out how best to make them. Lots of metal rod that needed to be cut and bent to shape. I drilled a hole for each nail that had to be installed. Plus instructions were not that good. I'm glad it's done.

Yea it was a lot of work but that thing looks so cool just to display it I'll bet you would get tons of complements I never even saw the kit but I'd love to have one! vince
cobraman Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 Bought it on the bay for about 65 dollars I think.
BIGTRUCK Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 (edited) Cool looking build, never knew the kit or the real sub existed.. Edited June 3, 2018 by BIGTRUCK
cobraman Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Thanks Ken. Kind of hard to believe they were building this in 1721.
Breezy Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 That sub is sweet! Really like the look of this. The air barrel is great i also like the random ladder rungs. Slam dunk in this tuff build!
Madhatter Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I was looking at this on my phone thinking to myself I would need to view it on my laptop to get a better view and I was so right - this is awesome!! I love this - it's unique and different and you've done it proud. Great job I would hate to be a sailor in this contraption though!
r60man Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Amazing work. I have tried a couple of wood kits, but haven't finished one yet. Maybe someday!
