MarkJ Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 (edited) After 187.5 hours, its finally finished. Freddy campaigned this car back in 1973. Its kind of a compilation of a few of his cars, from that time, because I did not have complete ref pics to go by. I chose this one because it seems to have had chrome rims, and chrome door numbers. My inspiration for this build is that I saw Freddy compete back in 1973 at Houston's Meyer Speedway, and he dominated the events the night, I was there. I know he was in a 65 Chevelle, but I cant remember the color, or number of the car he drove that night. Maybe it was this one. I mean it was 45 years ago. THarrison351 Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Looks like a Sportsman from the seventies. Brings back great memories. I can tell what it is and what year.

OldTrucker Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 What a beauty! Shame it won't look that good after it's first battle!
TarheelRick Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 You got my attention with this one. My favorite car of all time is the 65 Chevelle, built anyway - street, circle burner , or drag. This is some beautiful workmanship.
MarkJ Posted September 10, 2018 Author Posted September 10, 2018 Thanks, Johnny and Ricky. I really appreciate the replies.

sflam123 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Beautiful work!! The 70's is my favorite era of short track late models. Such variety. There were 1957 Chevy's racing against 1965 Chevelle's racing against 1970's Camaro's.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Very awesome work as usual! It looks great!!
