Earl Marischal Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Found this in a box. It is OOB and all brush painted. Built about 40 years ago. It's survived 4 house moves and 3 wives, much like the builder... steve
Paul Payne Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 That is a great build- I love everything about it! So glad you saved it and it survived so well.
Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Fantastic! I love an old survivor.. both models and people! This old Black Widow kit keeps popping up.. like it’s just prodding me to build the one I have!

larman Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Cool! It is always great when originals are saved!
DonW Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Perfect time capsule, built just the way we used to do them. That unsprung back end is pretty hardcore, no doubt the driver knew his dentist and orthopedist very well! And Harry would have loved the floating dynamo!
Earl Marischal Posted January 20, 2021 Author Posted January 20, 2021 Many thanks for the kind comments chaps! steve
Claude Thibodeau Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Hi Steve! Nice survivor, brings back memories. 3 wives? Even I can't beat that... So I guess that makes YOU a survivor too? CT
Tom Geiger Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 funny thing- on reading this thread again and referencing the recent release kit I own, it appears this one originally came with a motor. It’s not in my more recent kit, nor referenced in the instructions. So if I build mine I will remedy this with other Monogram chassis parts.

Tom, There was no motor in this when I bought the kit but I seem to remember there were some plastic gears in amongst the parts. steve
chevyman Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Looks great, how did it survive 3 wives , about 100 of mine did not survive 1 wife
Paul Payne Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Did the ex-husband survive as well as the model? When I built mine I decided to add a rear suspension and driveline, partly from a Green Hornet- also swapped in a flathead but with the kit intake, a deuce grille, and a lower top.
Paul Payne Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Steve, survival is good! Nice build of a unique model.
