lordgodbob Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Just wrapped this one up. Bob Glidden’s 68 Mustang Super Stocker. This screw-bottom kit is not great, not looking to do any more of these if I can help it! It’s amazing to me that some details can be so good, yet basic stuff is overlooked. Oh well, this was a quick build and I’m very happy with it. Slixx decals, the wheels from a Thunderbolt kit, and some foil are really the only detail I added. I took some liberties with the class/car number, it should be on the side windows, but this kit doesn’t have those, so I threw them on the windshield. 1
R. Thorne Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Your foiling and engine detail work are precise. What color is the body and why does it look copperish in some shots and bright red in others? Don’t guess you did headers on this car? Thanks, Ron.

Thanks for the compliments, I’ve suddenly found myself doing a LOT of foil, getting a lot of practice. Yeah, I did put the headers on it. What a nightmare those were! Literally had to cut chunks of the frame out of the car. I had forgotten that part! I used Duplicolor “perfect match” Toreador red metallic spray paint, there’s no real flip to it, the lighting in the pictures must be why there is such a variance. Tim
TransAmMike Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Looks great Tim, I painted 2 models that same exact paint, great color. Doing my first ever Mustang right now (GT350H)

vamach1 Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Very nice I build. I do not remember that color. Looks like Slixx had you covered on the decals which complements the great paint work.
Brutalform Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Very nice car and subject. Your build represents the real car perfectly. I love those old S/S cars.
