Lunajammer
Among the celebrity obits, I was surprised there's been no mention of the passing of Indy great Al Unser, Sr. December 9, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. I only found out a few days ago and can't find any mention on this forum. Regardless, he was one of my favorites. One of those classic, all-around racers. TonyK
There was some mentioned on a couple of other boards. The Unsers were a favorite family of racers for me and both Bobby and Al Sr. left us last year.
Oldcarfan27
That was real racing back then!! Great cars! Godspeed Al.
Dave Ambrose
I missed this too. I liked watching him race when I was young. He was one of the good guys. Relieved that he isn't suffering now. It was a life well lived.
Keavdog
Didn't hear about this either. Bobby just died in May of last year as well. 2021 - big loss to the racing community.

Mario Andretti eulogized him by saying if he had half the patience Big Al had, he'd have won more.
