Ace-Garageguy
This time, sunset looking out the back door of the new shop out West...
RSchnell
Golden hour & Sunset photos are among my favorites, so I try to capture them when I can. Here's a few of mine. The sunset is Redington Beach, FL, the bridge shot is Ormond Beach, FL just north of Daytona and the other one is from the driver's seat of my '56 Ford. Ace-Garageguy
One of the things I like to do is take mechanical things out of context, to create abstract designs. EDIT: This would be stronger as an abstract if it was cropped a little tighter at the bottom. Hmmmmm... EDIT 2: Fixed. 1972coronet
I enjoy taking photos of cats (imagine that!) and of urban decay. Since many have seen my photos of felines, I wish to present a few from my other collection. Most of them I "can't" exhibit here; others are for an exercise in contrasts (e.g., bright green weed against bright red curb).
RSchnell
I normally don't do much wildlife photography, but a recent kayak expedition with a now ex-GF turned up a few good shots..

TarheelRick
Some excellent photo work indeed. Years ago I took a couple of college courses in photography, using my 35 mm Yaschica TL Electro X with various lenses. Still have that camera, however the mirror sticks and I think maybe the seal around the film door may leak a bit. Like many of you I prefer working in black and white. Just recently dug out my Minolta 35 mm and my Canon Rebel and took a road trip into the mountains. Really need to get out more and practice. As an aside I would like to ask about darkroom equipment. This past weekend I was at an auction and they had an enlarger for sale, I could have got it for $5 but didn't because I noticed it was 250v and had some weird two prong plug. The question is: are all enlargers 250v? I need to scan some of my earlier college work into the computer and share it with you.
StevenGuthmiller
I'm no photographer, but I do enjoy snapping a few pics here and there, and even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion. Here's a few shots taken on a very recent trip that I thought turned out okay for a photographic illiterate such as myself. A smart phone camera can make even the most incompetent photographers among us look at least mildly adequate. Some of my favorite vacation shots from over the years. Brian Austin
There was a lunar eclipse a few weeks ago, and of course we had clouds in my area. I still managed to get half a dozen moody shots though...
peteski
I caught a partial eclipse of the moon in January 2019.
Brian Austin
Nice shot. I had taken some nice pictures of the moon days before the eclipse, but for some reason I just couldn't get a good closeup of the eclipse itself. FWIW, all these shots were taken using a Canon EOS-M with various 1980s telephoto lenses through an adapter.
LennyTee
If you like doing digital B&W stuff, this is about the best there is: Silver Efex Pro by DxO. I used Lightroom for several years until they went to annual subscription. I switched to DxO Photolab. A little pricey but I really like it. If you use an iPhone or iPad, check this app out: Halide for iPhone. Have fun!

Last time I shot B&W, it was Tri-X, Pan-X, Plus-X, Ilford HP-5, etc., some time in the early 1990s. In the '70s I'd routinely push ASA 400 Tri-X to 1600 for motorsports shots, as high as 3200 for available light. I miss the darkroom part of the work, where the graininess or reticulation was an artifact of the film chemistry and processing, and not an artificially introduced effect. I lost my darkroom equipment long ago, but this thread has got me interested in getting out the old cameras and seeing what's still available in B&W film. Maybe after I'm moved...
