Rich Chernosky
Just completed. Platz NuNu 1/24 version of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 that won Nurburgring 24 hour race in May 2015. Color is Gravity GC-227B Mclaren F-1 chrome with Tamiya X-22 clear. This was done over a black base and the color is more silver than chrome. I also purchased the upgrade kit with this and that i9ncluded the photo etch, carbon fibre decals and antenna base. While the kit is mostly curbside there is a lot of detail in this build. Kit went together with no fit issues. More info in the picture captions. Thanks for looking and comment welcome. Completed chassis before the body went on. Most of this detail will be hidden. Interior received lots of attention and a few details were added. The v-10 engine, such that it is. Some PE clamps ,paint and those chrome decals which I really like. Top view of the cockpit. The netting was off the PE fret. The seatbelts (included) used about 20 pieces of photo etch but were almost impossible to photograph. Finally finished and on its wheels. The decal sheets included two different versions of the car (the other was all red) and sorting through the sheets was time consuming. Even this version had a lot of decals. Normally I enjoy a good decal challenge and this one certainly fit the bill. Rear view show the tremendous amount of detail NuNu put into this kit. The photo etch wing supports were a challenge all by itself but in the end looked so much better than the kit plastic thingies. This car sits low. Front wheels steer but barely. Don't often take this shot but there was a lot of detail to be seen . The front hood air extractor took a lot of decals and a lot of patience but turned out well. I've got this one in the collection and I will probably be going to indycals for a different livery probably something of the IMSA variety. I currently have the NUNU M8 daytona 24 hours winner on my bench.
