Just getting into this kit a little. Looks like a very good kit with great parts count. Has anyone built one of these NextGen Camaros yet? What did you do where the roof rail stops short of where it should? Was going to glue a plastic strip there but to match it up, it is very thin.

Jason, I see what you mean about that roof strip. I wonder why they stopped it at the edge of the hatch. Shouldn't be too much of a problem making a strip to hook up to it. Looks like it gets smaller as it heads to the front. just make a copy of the extended strip on the right side of the roof. The fun part for me will be making a wiper blade for mine as well as that strip.

FYI: I've looked at photos of several Next Gen Camaros, and they don't all have the drip rail go to the front window. Some have it stop at the roof hatch.

This subject came up on a FB group recently and of course set people off like crazy. So for the roof rail that is missing, it was a mistake from Jim in the original design, he admitted to it. He's also said that it will be fixed in the future, they're just waiting on licensing from Ford or Toyota to start the runs of those cars. When that happens, they're going to take the Camaro mold and rework it to get the correct roof rail on the body. But for now, they're still running the thing pretty much non-stop so it's as is for now.

To fix it, check out Clay Kemp's Youtube video.

Since I have some bodies for winter assembly, I thought I'd hop back on to the NextGEN kit. This one will be my "guinea pig". Primed the body and got the rollcage assembled. No real issue with rollcage other than the top rollbar piece as molded was warped badly. The vertical center bar seems to be a tad short. But, the biggest issue is the under-chassis plate being warped badly. Need to decide if I want to paint the rollcage assembly and the top of the under-chassis plate that is the bottom of the cockpit?

So, Jason. Are you opting out on fixing the strip on the roof? Your chassis is looking Awesome.

Thanks Mark. No I will not be fixing the roof rail on this one. Just want to try and get one together to see how they go. Have been reading ill things about the kit why did they do this? why did they do that? Just wanted to see for myself how they go together.

Just scuffed and got some paint on this one today. Never used this color before (Tamiya TS-28 Olive Drab 2) so, I was curious how it would turn out. Still waiting for it to dry to see if it will be glossy or flat or what. If flat, will need some gloss clear to be able to decal it. These pictures were right after it was sprayed. Now about 30 mins later, it appears to be drying to a satin finish.

Started decaling. A slow go at them. 3 Amigos Decals. Everything has a white base that goes on first.
