Jim B Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Just finished up the AMT Autocar A64B tractor kit: The build is mostly box-stock except for the 3-D printed interior door handles & window cranks: The exhaust was replaced with 5/16" aluminum tube, and the glad hand airlines are #22 black wire. Decals are from the AMT/Ertl International Paystar5000 Cement Mixer. Color is Testors Dark Red. AC lines are some small black wire from a broken USB cable. Hydraulic tank is from the AMT/Ertl Dump Trailer. Thanks for looking.
grodudulle77 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Very nice, i really like the look Jim !! ?? 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Jim, I really like what you have come up with here!! It has a real vintage look! I like the paint scheme and the short stack! Looks good!! 1
Jim B Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the comments. Brian, the stack is actually the same length as the one from the kit. It was a one-for-one swap. Now I just have to figure put how to make the curved stack to replace the solid one on the Autocar dump.
leafsprings Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Very nice build! Like the paint scheme and decal choice. These Autocars look more 1950's looking than 70's. 1
Jim B Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 Thanks, Tom. Actually, I very briefly considered using the AITM 1950 Autocar conversion on this one.
Jim B Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 Thanks, Alan. That's the look I was going for.
Nacho Z Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 I always say; I don't know much about trucks but I know a nice model when I see one and this is a nice model! Great job!
Jim B Posted August 19, 2022 Author Posted August 19, 2022 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the positive comments.
The Brush Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Very nice, Always liked the look of Autocars, Well done Jim. Graham. 1
