rekcirb13 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) Hi guys, This is my first model to be submitted to this forum. It is a Mack B-81SX Dump truck in 1/25th scale. The cab/chassis is from the late Dave Natale of AITM, the dump body is a AMT Montone glue bomb, and the plow frame is from Ryan Pedone. It took about three years working on it part-time. Suggestions and comments welcome. The snowplow is actually two AMT Ford LNT Snowplow kits that were combined into one Valk snowplow moldboard (blade), increasing the blade height substantially. Cutting edge and nuts/ bolts added. Bob Edited August 20, 2022 by rekcirb13 Additional info added. 1
James Maynard Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Nice Mack. Are the rims and tires resin too?

Yes, the tires and rims are both resin, molded separately for ease of painting and assembly. You have a choice of sizes, these being 24 inch. Bob

The Brush Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Very nice Mack, looks beefy. Takes a bit of effort to get resin parts looking good. well done. Will it have a plough? Graham.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 You have done an excellent job on this! It looks great!

leafsprings Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Great job on the super heavy duty Mack Dump. Wheels and tires look awesome!
Warren D Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Looks good. I'd like to make one suggestion, replace the tape pin striping with decals. Microscale makes decal pin stripes in various colors and widths. You can find these at model RR supply stores or on the net. Some of the thinner stripes can be coerced to go around corners.
happy grumpy Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Really beautiful build. I like the color and the photography. The bigger wheels give it an intimidating look
gatorincebu Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Bob, That is a very nice representation of a NE USA heavy duty dump .I like em heavy duty like that ! Be Well Gator
The Brush Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) The plough looks great, I built a LJX Dumper a while back, that also would have suited a plough. maybe next time. Regards Graham Edited August 27, 2022 by The Brush
