DanL Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Nice clean simple kit for building but well worth the effort. A good platform to try some more advanced painting. Always liked the Sox and Martin colors so it's my version of an S+M Chevy. 4

Horrorshow Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Advanced painting is right…it looks great!!!
cobraman Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Great looking model. Reminds me of the AMC Scrambler.
DanL Posted November 28, 2022 Author Posted November 28, 2022 Thx for the compliments.... Cheers DanL
espo Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Very cleanly detailed assemblies. Like the colors and the lay out almost looks like one of the American Motors cars as well.
DanL Posted November 29, 2022 Author Posted November 29, 2022 I think it might look better with a full package of racing decals if I can dig some up... the stuff it comes with is not that good. I posted a few more pictures Cheers DanL
TooOld Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Best version of that kit I've seen yet , great job !! They may be Sox & Martin colors but they sure look good on that Chevy II .

Sox and Martin painted all there race cars in this style with slight variations... always liked it . I guess American motors did too because in 1969 they built the SC/Rambler, a compact muscle car with this same livery. My paint job turned out pretty good with the red side panels being the most difficult. It's hard to avoid those small bleed in areas under the masking tape and very difficult to touch them up properly. Cheers DanL
happy grumpy Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Great color combo, it fits really good. Well put together and the engine looks great. Well done sir.

Zippi Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Now that's a different twist on this kit compared to what everyone else has done including myself. Nice job on this one. I remember watchin Sox & Martin race back in the late 60's.

Nice job on this one. I remember watchin Sox & Martin race back in the late 60's. Thanks Bob... A lot of these have been built lately and it is a nice clean simple build. Gave me a chance to try the three tone paint job and I also used wider rear street tires (from the AMT 67 chevelle kit) so I had to raise the car by a couple of mm to clear the rears and get it sitting right. Cheers DanL
