Yes, I still use email and I actually prefer it to texting.

Anyway, I was hoping another Outlook user could tell me if there's a way to actually block certain entities from showing up every day, despite me using the pathetic "block" feature.  The "rules" thing doesn't seem to offer much help either.

Lume deodorant, SonoBello, Byte, Renewal by Anderson, camp lejeune stuff (thought that was finally over) and a host of others, and the best this system can do is route them to the spam section.

There is a block sender function. The issue is scammers/spammers change their email address daily, sometimes more than once a day. They add a character or number and now the addy you blocked is different.  I have had my 'Hotmail' addy since early 1990's so I get on all the lists......I just do a mass delete everyday.

I use Outlook at work (not sure it it is the same as what you use).  You should be able to set up rules based on anything (like a word or phrase in the subject line or in the body of the email) and send that email to some folder (including to Deleted Items, or Spam).

So far, the best I've been able to do is get it set up so that the major repeat offenders end up in a spam file, but I was hoping there was a way to block them altogether.  I probably clean 20-30 out every day, and none of them are things I have used or searched for.  I may be the least computer-adept person on here, but I have no doubt someone has made something that would do what I need.

It works sometimes and not so much sometimes. As stated above, these scammers have so many ways to skirt around things. It's just become a habit for me everyday to sort thru the good and bad. I've been able to laugh at some of the ridiculous attempts so I've learned to live with it.

Oh I get that.  Ever get an "emergency notification" from a bank where you've never had an account?

Ever get e-mails saying they have naughty videos of you from your computer camera when you've never ever had a computer camera? ?

Monty, you are not the only one fed up with SPAM.  While at work all the SPAM is filtered before gets to me, I still go through several dozens of emails a day.  That is why I have rules set up to organize emails in different folders, and at the end of the day I purge them. This is a normal thing to do.  You have to realize that you will never be able to magically filter out all the SPAM.

Most SPAM has nothing to do with items you searched for in your browser. Most come from Spammers who bought you email address on the Dark Web and just use it to flood you with all sorts of nefarious offers, or phishinig for information hoping you will reply or click on some bad link.

You specifically mentioned Lume deodorant, SonoBello, Byte, Renewal by Anderson, camp lejeune stuff. Those types of emails can be easily dealt with by setting up Outlook rules (since they have keywords for Outlook to look for).   That will at least eliminate some of the unwanted stuff in your Inbox.  Doesn't your ISP have some SPAM filtering already built-in?

I use MS Outlook 2007. I too have tried the "block senders". Some go to the Junk folder but most do not. Also some stuff I approve of will randomly go there too. My Outlook has been broke as far a deleting messages. (It won't let me) At present, I have 48,007 UNREAD emails. Maybe I will get to them if I ever get to retire.

I don't know much about this stuff but I assume it's Outlook.

When you write your email address, what goes after the @ symbol?

I was asking that to see if there was a way to access it on another program but it looks like you're stuck with Outlook.
I have gmail but access it through outlook and if I go to google I can add more filters than Outlook. You don't appear to have that option.
