He was a good old dog. He was my son and daughter-in-laws dog.

Had surgery yesterday on his leg. Was fine today when she checked on him at 2:30 rounds and 5 minutes later he was gone when one of the Techs noticed he wasn't moving..

Yellow Lab, big old guy with a heart to match. Sure going to miss him.

He was named Dime, after my son's favorite guitarist!

Sorry to hear that...I can relate...I lost my 14yr old Westie the day after Thanksgiving last year, and my 14yr old Silky Terrier (enlarged heart) and 14yr old Aussie Terrier (cancer) aren't long for this world, I'm afraid.

My condolences on the loss of your good and loyal friend. I know the heartbreak that goes with it. I just passed my 1st anniversary of losing my good buddy, Dakota. I feel your loss.

Please accept my sincerest condolences.

My Patches is an almost 14 year old Lab that still gets around 90% like a puppy.

I swore I'd never get another dog after I lost my boyhood pal Pepper an Australian Shepherd.

But then you see a new puppy and you just can't help yourself.

As hard as it is, jump in with both feet and get you another baby :)

you can have the worst day possible and there is nothing in this world that will bring you out of your funk like a dog.

sorry for the loss of your four legged friend.

Even thought they are so different from us they are so much like us,the comfort when someones sad or sick, they have emotions, and when we lose one of them it's like losing a real person.I hope things get better.

Sooooo sorry to hear of your loss. I can more than understand. I'm a huge animal lover and my cats mean the world to me! One of my female cats has been battling cancer for several years now. I had to pay 1500.00 for them to operate and remove the cancer from the right side of her chest area. Now the cancer has come back on her left side and it's going to cost me 950.00 more to remove that with no guarantee's that she'll survive the surgery or have the cancer just come back again. It's only money, I can make more but she's irreplaceable!

Condolences on losing your friend. I can't imagine having a home without a dog, but I hate it when they leave us all too soon. There's days I prefer the company of my dog over people.

Give it time and go rescue another. So many in need of homes with people who want them.

hardest thing to do next to actual family members is losing a pet. had a pet raccoon for twelve years myself, that would put up a terrible fuss if i was late coming home from work so she could get her scratchie time.

+1 for Fastback340 I give each month to the ASPCA. There are so many animals that are abused and/or homeless.

When we rescued our boy in Nov. 2011 I told my wife my Holiday Bonus was going to the shelter.

I got surprised, and true to my word, the shelter got surprised when they received it with a Thank You note from Buddy.

Sorry for the loss. I think all of us who love pets have gone through something like that but you should feel happy for the good moments and love that you gave to each other.

Its hard when they go. I had to have my Roxy put down two years ago (she was 14), and there isn't a day that goes by where I still don't think about her
