Dominik Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Hi, i have finished my Daytona Transport Truck today. Some building notes i had given to my best in the Kit reviews Now, here is my result and i am realy happy with it Edited October 9, 2012 by Dominik
Dominik Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 more pics: Thats it. I will say, that it is no kit for pure beginners. I made a lot of sanding on parts to fit them correct, removed the chrome on the engine for a realistic paint and (see the Kit preview) the most work was on the glass parts. Comments always welcome.
Yahshu Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Looks like it belongs in "The Thunderbirds". Real cool build, well done.
Austin T Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Cool build. Can the trailer swivel with the glass on it?
slusher Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Man, that looks really good, nice paint and its sharp....
RodneyBad Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Cool build. Can the trailer swivel with the glass on it? Good question. Great looking build. really need to throw a car in the rear tho... Can't wait to get my hands on one of these..
Dominik Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thank you buddies for kind words. Do you mean with "swivel" to make a turn like on the picture without the glass on the trailer? If: yes, it is also possible. I post a picture this evening, when i'm at home ;-)
Jantrix Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Your work is excellent. I really am torn on the kit though. I would have to ditch the rear canopy.
Danno Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Nice looking build ... strange looking vehicle.
Dominik Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks again! Here are some pictures without the rear glas: and one turned in: @Rodney: the car to throw in the rear is on the bench
crazyjim Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Pretty cool and SHINY :) . What kit did you start with?
Dominik Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Thank you Jim....i started the Lincoln Futura. This Transporter (choice of the body-/windowcolor) was a wish from my girlfriend as i showed her the kit when i got it. I gave her the choice to the Lincoln Futura or Pontiac club de mar Concept car. she likes the lincoln more, so i have will build it now. Lying long time enough in the shelf and this truck is the point to start it. Edited October 10, 2012 by Dominik
DumpyDan Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Wow you did a great job, I just bought one of these and looking forward to building it. I don't care for the wheels on it and I am thinking of putting dualies wheels on the back and the color not decided. You have done a great job on this kit......Thanks for the pics.
Badluck 13 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Dominik,I love it,color, fit and finish looks excellent, did you tint the windows or was it kit glass? and if you did, what did you use? because it sure looks even in color.
Dominik Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Thank you Dan, Mike. The tintet glas is a choice in the kit. You can choose clear and those blue i used. I thought, blue looks better to the color and is "some other stuff like normal"
bryan_m Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 neat! cool subject, and nice work cheers bryan
jjsipes Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Looks awesome. Been thinking about one of these for myself. Can you provide any chassis shots? Been wonder what all the kit consisted of.

crazyrichard Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 awsome , looks best without the rear glass ...now put a car in it":)
george 53 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Man you did a nice job on this! Been like a thousand years since I had one of these!!! The more I look at yours the more i wanna make a dam RV outta one!!! You did a GREAT job on yours, Dom!!!!!
Funkster Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I see those have been reissued, I will have to get one. Looks like it has a Pontiac(GM) motor in it. I would change that out for a Mopar slant 6 that I have, maybe an Mopar Big Block Mopar(440 cid). That little 4 banger looks to small?
Joker Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 A club buddy of mine is working on one too. I hope it comes out as clean and crisp as yours. Great paint and BMF work.
