bogger44 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Finished this up last Sunday. I had the need to do a quick build, without putting in a lot of extra details, to re-charge the batteries a little bit. As basic as this kit is, I thought it would fit the bill rather nicely. I was planning on building it stock, but the more I looked at the 427 Cammer parts supplied with it, I decided to build it as a mild custom. With the Cammer under the hood, it would have obliterated those skinny stock tires, so I dug into the parts box and found some wide Goodyears. I did have to dremel the wheel wells and framerails some to get those fat tires to slip under the quarter panels. The steelies came from the parts box as well, and the covers are from the AMT 66 Fairlane 427. Other than that, it's just paint, BMF and box stock. The color is Testors One Coat Lacquer Star Spangled Blue. Wish I had some outdoor pics of it, but the weather has been pretty dumpy up here lately. Anyways, here are some pics, and thanks for looking.
Scuderia Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Yeah thats a sharp lookin' car. and that engine looks ready for serious action. good stuff

ChevyCoupe41 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Very Nice! Paint job looks very good and those steelies and wide rear tires fits perfectly on it. Nice Job!
Dan Helferich Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Very nice! I love the stance. Most of these I've seen built look like they have busted rear springs. Very cool Ford!
Gluhead Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Cool quickie. I've been having similar thoughts about that kit lately.
bogger44 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Thanks for the nice comments everyone. It's been quite some time since I built a kit like this. It was a bit of fresh air building a "quickie" again. Very nicely done. I say we need a new tool 60s Galaxie! I agree, a 63 or 64 please! Very nice! I love the stance. Most of these I've seen built look like they have busted rear springs. Very cool Ford! That was something I forgot to mention (and the only other mod), I did drill new holes for the rear tires to mount into. I hate that saggy rear look.
Chuck Most Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Very nicely done. I say we need a new tool 60s Galaxie! Yes, we do. Beautiful Galaxie- forgot all about the optional Cammer in this kit.

bbowser Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Great car! That cammer would move that 2 tons of steel pretty well I imagine, especially with the rear meats. Very cool!
