cruz Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 This is a quick project for a club member that I wanted to share with you guys. It is based on the Monogram kit. Hosted on Fotki Thinking about doing something like this...... Hosted on Fotki Pretty much out of the box, nothing special..... Hosted on Fotki Kit is not that bad, I just had to add a bit of plastic on the sides of the hood and straighten the body out a bit, it was a bit warped.... Hosted on Fotki
cruz Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 So far, this is what I have accomplished on the body..... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

kelson Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Excellent work so far! I've got at least 3-4 of these in the stash,i think having to mask all that trim and hoping it turns out has stopped me from building one so far.
Ford guy Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Great looking build Marcos! We don't see too many four eyed foxes on here. I've had one on my "want to build" list for a couple years. Nice job.
LongRoofNut Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Love it! Always wanted this kit but always late to the party to get one.........
stang_crazy Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 following this I love to see other builders mustangs. Did ya lower it at all?
MsDano85gt Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 following this I love to see other builders mustangs. Did ya lower it at all? I have a few foxbody and "4 eyed" mustang threads * my way to build a 85/ 86 gt mustang * foxbody frenzy * mercury capri foxbody's ??
mk11 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Very clean and realistic ! Darkening the panel lines before paint really makes a difference. Great inspiration to dig out mine and finish it. ike
Zen Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) I agree on painting the black trim.....Have any tips on painting these areas? Looking great! Edited March 14, 2014 by Zen
cruz Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 following this I love to see other builders mustangs. Did ya lower it at all? I have not done any lowering on the suspension, will have to ask the owner if he wants it a little lower.
cruz Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 I agree on painting the black trim.....Have any tips on painting these areas? Looking great! Not really my friend, just make sure to use a good tape like the Tamiya brand. Also, if you notice, the line does not start at the body but slightly off from it. You want to make sure that when you are done, the lines look to scale rather than too wide or in this case, too tall.....
MsDano85gt Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 what shade of red paint/ what brand paint did you use on your convertable? as i am struggling to find the right "red" color for my foxbody mustangs...... especially that "canyon " Red for the svo's
