  1. Given Chi towns very unfortunate record high murder rate isn't the whole slogan a bit of a moot point anyways?
  2. I'm always excited when I see a new one of your history threads posted, excellent read as always
  3. Hopefully it returns next year, it was a really good show. It seemed very well attended too
  4. Neat-o! Thanx for the post chuck, very interesting bit of modeling history.
  5. I'm wondering why you felt this change in the 1:1 car world warranted a post on here? This is a forum for scale models of cars, not real ones. If there was a change in the country that any of the model manufacturers molded their scale Camaro kits in I could see perhaps making mention of it but the reason you felt the need to post this is a mystery to me.
  6. I would like to see a return of the Snapfast Plus line of kits, they had some really good offerings in that line up back in the day. The 72 GMC stepside would be a welcome return as well as some of the pinto variants.
  7. Bob Grant had a bodied 1:1 LUV he was building a while back too, i believe it is in texas now. Your version looks like its gonna be pretty kool when its done, I think the LUV kit is due for a re issue too!
  8. I know a guy who has had a 1:1 full show street freak 460 powered Pinto hatch mothballed since the late 70s so there are deff some survivors out there. This one was all for show, crazy paneled paint and tons of chrome and a sky high straight axled front end, a really neat-o lookin old show car.
  9. Could you please stop advocating smoking on here please, we have forum members who are young and impressionable along with many older members who have given the habit up for various reasons. Smoking is a terrible habit to have and an even worse one to break! With regards to the real topic Bill is deff a true craftsman when it comes to the kustum kar game, his chopped folding top mechanisms are fabulous pieces of machinery themselves.
  10. I had good luck with the LA's Totally Awesome, stripped 14yo paint off one builtup I had.
  11. VW Rabbit and Scirrocco... x2 on this one! I didn't realize that the GMC got hacked up to make the Cheyenne longbed kit, that is too bad. I would deff take a couple of the Chevette kits if they were reissued
  12. ^^ i believe his was a convertable if memory serves me right
  13. The 72 GMC stepside kit is getting expensive, I would like to see it reissued soon. Same goes for their dual axle car trailer kit, it hasn't been that long since it was last available but its one of my favorites.
  14. Sidebar on Zora, he was also the godfather to the famous ARDUN ohv head conversion for the flathead ford motor
  15. That's a sharp looking car right there, excellent work!
  16. ing Waiting hours for a product to dry AND having to apply in thin layers to avoid shrinkage issues does not make a product quick or convenient in my eyes.
  17. Use a 2 part finishing putty like Spot Lite by Evercoat and you will like the results. The talc in a finishing putty is ground finer than in a standard lightweight which helps it feather out nicely on our small canvases. Stay away from any of the single stage spot fillers out there, they are lacquer based and will cause you more trouble than they are worth with shrinking ,blending and bleeding.
  18. Looks good locked up like that, I say run with it!
