    Hi, I have the same kit, just haven't started yet. But I see an item on your kit that I do not seem to have: the grill surround. Was that part of the kit?

    Hello Mike, the sun visor is made of the same metal as the rest of the car. So if you want to paint your car glossy, you may paint the visor glossy too. But it's up to you. I am very exited to see your project, because I have the same kit and I was going to start with it after my current project. I will follow your progress!

    So true Gluhead. I was even thinking of cutting a regular passenger car in half and place it in front of the camper. I saw photos of people who had done that with 1:1 cars. Talk about 'redneckineering'! :-)

    I agree Tom, I'm going to see if I can make it work, but I probably should use a more year appropriate truck. That might explain why it does n't fit, eventhough both are scale 1:25.

    @Gluhead: Thank you for your advice. I ilke the idea of raising the camper and instal some shielding around the bottom. I have included a few photos of the scratch built garage. All made out of cardboard, balsa wood and coffee stir sticks. Ultra low budget! :-)

    Thank you Skip! On the photo you can see that the truck sits about a quarter inch lower than the camper. I could try to fix that, but there is not a quarter inch clearing between the truck roof and the camper. Mmmmmm. a challenge. Ideas and suggestions are welcome. :-)

    This is a mock-up of my Open Road Camper, with a 1955 Chevy Cameo in front of it. The original release of the camper kit came with a truck. I believe it was a 1967 Chevy. But the AMT re-release did not come with a truck. It was a 'stand alone' camper. I wanted to connect it to a truck, but found it hard to find a match. As you can see here on the photo, the suspension of the camper is too low. I placed the camper on a sanding stick to verify the difference in hight. I think I need to take the wheels off under the camper and elevate the suspension a bit.

    Welcome back to the hobby James! What better car to choose for your comeback than a Mustang! I just finished a Mustang, I'm working on one now, and have two more lined up for future builds. Needless to say I'm eager to follow your project! Good luck.

    Oh wow! Great attention to detail! I like how you painted the gas tank silver. That must have been a precision job! My 1966 Mustang kit is a re-issue from AMT. It is a very plain kit, but I like it anyway. I'm in the middle of spray painting it. Next to it is my 2010 Mustang. I recently finished that one. What brand is your kit? Revell? It looks very neat. I will follow your progress for sure!

    I'm not a big fan of the lowered suspension look, but that is purely my own preference Ryan, so don't be offended. But I really love your paint work!? That red color looks so good! Awesome job!

    Is the kit you're building this AMT kit? I was wondering if it came with a regular front bumper? I like what you did with the truck bed. Love the color too.

    I totally this build Jamie, I'm building a 1966 mustang myself right now. How on earth were you able to get that silver foil on the dashboard? It looks very professional! I can't wait to see your next photos. I learn a lot from this.

    Yeah me too. I tried to build my own little campers, but it's quite a challenge. Campers are a great subject for dioramas. I'm always on the lookout to find RV related items.

    Thank you Charlie! I scratch built hat garage out of cardboard and coffee stir sticks! I took photos of the whole build. I should post it one day. :-)

    Yes, I agree. I think I want to use the 1955 Cameo. I tried to see if the 1941 Chevy would fit, but hat truck is so pretty by itself, I did not want to mess that one up. It deserves to be built as it is.
