  2. I am looking to attempt a new thing, I am going to buy a decal maker kit for my printer from hobby lobby to do some COT paint schemes. How do this work? are they reliable ? Should I by the white ones or the clear ones, is there something else i need to buy to keep the ink from running or will clearcoating the sheet be enough. Sorry to ask so mant ???s I have never attempted this before, just want to know if it is worth my while.
  3. I recently aquired a rodney combs craftsmaan series cheverolet that is #49 lance . I know that petty enterprises did field some trucks for rodney but i would like to know if this truck was one of them. It has the same paint scheme as the 43 busch series car. Is this a petty truck or did the pettys sell it to him, i just want to restore this . I am hoping it is affiliated with the pettys, it is aracing champions 1/24 scale diecast .i know the pettys did field a chevy for rodney before getting involved with the dodge program
  4. petty blue 3 consecutive top 10 finishes
  5. pettys first ride was a57 olds convertable, it was painted white with pale blue trim. he ran it in 58 for 5 races none of which used the #43 he used his dad's # or added the letter A or removed the #4 and raced it as 2, petty did not use the #43 on that car until 1959 just before switching to plymouth. The 59 plymouth was not petty blue, it was white with red #s

  12. I realy like this one - I like that you thought outside the box to create a petty car.
  13. Thanks, I dont mind going into new diecast because sometimes it is the most financial feasable way to get a car I want, It looks like I will have to do that to get the fusions and mustangs of the 43 and 9. I feel that if I disasemble it and make it better than it is my work. thanks again for looking.
  14. You know how I am by now - still tring to find way to aquire all of the petty rides. I found this car at a local NASCAR shop on sale so I scooped it up to add color to my collection. As you will see it is a racing champions diecast, but it lacks detail. I drilled out the ribits and dissasembled it, sand the tires added color to the window net and dash. Painted the black wheels blue, painted the unpainted lower grille and window trim, hoodpins, lugnuts, tape sunvisor inside winshild and added markings on tires and other parts of the body. After spraying with a coat of clear so it would shine, I added undercarriage details with paint and jb welded it back together. Ok it is still a diecast, however, i do think it is vasly improved. Thanks for looking Before AFTER
