  1. I like Johnny Cash, but that song is horrible!
  2. Very nice! That will look great in your already impressive collection!
  3. That is sharp! Nice job!
  4. That is a cool car. Nice job!
  5. I actually use both, mainly because Tamiya was not available for some time and now that I have testors, I might as well use it up. But, the Tamiya is easier to clean up and does not require much effort, plus, it is truly clear. I have had issues with the Testors in drying time and having to rub it out more than Tamiya. Wet look is just a tad thicker and that can really throw a wrench in the works when you are trying to control your amounts. I prefer Tamiya, and as they say, you get what you pay for.
  6. I have had the cracking issue, but never had it pull paint. And I have sprayed it over Enamels and Acrylics. Spraying on too much at once or over paint that has not cured well can cause problems.
  7. Labeling issues, and that is going from what I was told by the Tamiya folks. I have used their products before and after and have never noticed any changes in how the product worked.
  8. I have cans with the stick on labels they had to do in a hurry to keep the stuff in the U.S. At one of the Tamiya Con shows, they where giving the paint away so they did not have to label it again! I easily went home with a few hundred bucks worth of paints! They have pulled other products as well just because of labeling issues with the EPA. Even their polishing compounds where once held back.
  9. I use Tamiya and Testors Wet and I like them both, but, Tamiya does have an edge over it. Tamiya has to be mastered a bit, but once you figure it out, it is well worth it. As for the bubbling problem, the fix is to not press on the nozzle too long! Smooth and quick strokes are what is needed when applying Tamiya paints. Otherwise you will start loading up and getting sags, runs and bubbles. The paint is nice and thin and it comes out of the can rather quickly. If you can't handle that, then stick to the slower stuff. One of the biggest reasons Tamiya paint keeps going away is due to the EPA. I don't know how many times they have to keep re-labeling their products to meet their ever changing policies.
  10. So, we now have two threads for basically the same thing. Mods, could you please combine http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91088
  11. So, you bash the kit and then say it is not bad. So, what is it? Is it not enough that Revell at least did something else with a new tool to keep interest going? The kit for all intents and purposes is a stock vehicle kit, they just added some race parts to build something other than stock. For the average or novice builder, that will work just fine. For the more experienced builders, and to be honest, these kits are not really aimed at us, the rest falls on us to make them a bit more accurate. Revell is not going to mod a stock tool to make a more accurate race car that only a few foiks really know anything about. The basics are there for a better build or just build it out the box and add it to the dust collection system. I just wish Revell would just add the parts to the original kit, like a 2 in 1, and let us do the rest, but hey, they are in the buisness of making models to make money, its the American Way! At least be glad you got a discussion going and some very helpful info came out of it.
  12. This should answer some questions and also raise some questions, like, was the bottom of the car white or ?
  13. Awesome! Hope mine comes out that nice when I get to it!
  14. This looks awesome, a bit pricey, but awesome! So, who is ordering first? http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=43&products_id=5913&osCsid=959bd3fc71a2692f0b28dee17766cb2b
  15. Correct or not correct, they are going to end up on a shelf collecting dust! Just build'em!
  16. I just used a piece of glass for a flat surface and used paint bottles to hold it up while the glue dried. If you do it in stages you should be fine.
  17. I vote this thread gets locked
  18. Have you looked here? http://ecsvr.com/fpm/shopdisplaycategories.asp
  19. There's a build challenge!
  20. Got these in the mail. Really good deal on some really nice jackets!
  21. Don't forget that '70 was the first year for Pro Stock and most cars where running mostly stock components in the suspension systems, it was later, especially after Jenkins tube Vega, that things started getting crazy.
  22. Monogram kitted one with a stock height roof. Should not be too hard to find.
