  1. It is a pretty goofy movie, but the cars are the stars. Made before the Cannonball Run and probably more accurate!
  2. No love for the "Gumball Rally" river scenes?
  3. That is a sweet build! One of the ladies that works upstairs still has hers and it is mint! She loves it and won't sell it. But, she also drives a Mercedes Roadster, so don't feel too bad for her.
  4. And then there is....."The Hollywood Knights" Accuracy? Just leave your brain at the door
  5. It's true, but how many folks actually know that these days? Might as well use it to their advantage, it seems. We still have a few original Taco Bell buildings down here, but they are being ripped out at a pretty good pace, just like old McDonald's buildings. And I would love it if they did at least one original style Jack N the Box!
  6. Well, again, this is just background dressing, and to be honest, it looks pretty close, with or without the drive thru
  7. Just wait until the next Tarantino movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood", it is set in 1969 Hollywood during the Manson murders These are some shots of the set dressing
  8. First off, Movies like Grease are not "Car Movies" So one must be careful by what they consider a car movie. Some movies have lots of cars, i.e. "Dazed and Confused", but that is not a car movie and the cars are merely props to give it some feel for the era being represented. Second, something that would be a "Car Movie", i.e. Cannonball Run, are usually made with current vehicles to represent that period of time. Only in historical situations, like Tucker, does close enough really count and some attempt is made a getting it right. The lamentations in the Grease thread about it the movie not being correct on the vehicles is not far off, but then again, it is not a really a car movie, it is a Musical about Teenagers, set in the 50's, and to the casual movie goer, it looks right. Mission accomplished for the movie makers. And for the accuracy types, it is a travesty! So those are my thoughts, you mileage may vary.
  9. Strangely enough, this is still my favorite version
  10. "Grease" is a documentary about how life was really like in the 50's!
  11. So, will there be a modified re-issue coming soon for a bookend?
  12. Well, who knew! I was mostly just busting your chops on it, If I would have known I would have just posted images like Anthony did. Thanks, Tony!
  13. There is a video at the beginning of this thread that shows you all the parts. And no, I am not going to tell you, so go watch the video!
  14. Well, to be honest, I bought it for the Grease tie in! Yes, I like Hollywood related kits and this is a more realistic addition than the earlier Grease 2 tie in kits that made no real sense. This will be a shelf model and speed parts are irrelevant for that. Kitbash it you really want those parts.
  15. Cool pics! Don looks like he should be holding up a muffler or something!
  16. Well, considering that this site is not secure and is open to anything, it is a caveat emptor moment
  17. They look like the tires in the AMT 34 Ford
  18. I built my first kit at age 6 and it was the Revell Snap Together Volkswagen bug, and have been building since then. That was 44 years ago for me!
  19. I am running 15 inch wheels on my Datsun 510 because not only do they look better, but, 14 and 13 inch tires are hard to find, especially in low profile sizes. And even 15 inch tires are getting scarce. My old Chevelle had 15 steel wheels that where a bit wider than stock and finding decent tires to fit was not easy, or cheap. I know some of you are thinking donk size wheels when you hear larger wheels, but that is not always the case. Nothing wrong with going one size up on wheels.
  20. This is just the worst, and as someone who was caught in the fires here in San Diego back in 2003, Cedar Fire, it is hell on earth. My thoughts and prayers go out to all. Bite me! Chris Matthews!
  21. How about freezing it?
  22. Did you look here? https://www.forcbodiesonly.com/mopar-forum/threads/any-colt-fans.18384/
  23. Probably the modern style Revell Top Fuel and Funny Cars I have them all, and after building a couple of them, they just bored me, like the NASCAR kits!
  24. I kinda finished the Chopped Deuce version back in the early 80's, but never actually did. too many little parts and not enough skill
