Mack Superliner "American Oil" 1:24
72 Charger replied to Pavel A.'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Pavel thats a great looking collection well done . I think you should build the trumpeter fire truck you will love it ! Dave BTW did you know that you can get the correct badges for the Mack superliner from KFS . I built that tanker years ago and the badges realy finish it off well -
Tulio thats a very nice Chevy and some very nice cats too . On a side note could you do some pics of your parking lot full of your 57's ?
-
Nico if you try to twist the hood and the plastic goes whiter then the rest of the hood then you went to far just tease it strait a little at a time and it will come strait . Also try putting it in very hot water for a few moments to softern the plastic you will be surprised how far you can bend it before it breaks. Good luck. Dave

You will find some Interior Photo etch stuff at Kit Form Services . They did do a few things like a skip truck bed and a hiab craine mixer but im not sure if those are still avalible you could still find one or two on ebay possibley . But to be honest with you there isnt that much avalible. Im sure that somone will be able to tell you of other things out there but you may have to scratch build the things you want sorry. Dave

Have you checked the body is strait as its been built once before it . If it is the hood you could just twist it a little to get it to seat down it does not look to far out

Ewan Hi you should open one up and start one ! The tyres on the DM800 are from the revell unimog kits you will need 2 kits to get 10 tyres as you get 5 tyres in each kit .They are very nice but quite soft so I had to pack them all with cotton wool to fill them so that they could hold the weight of the Mack. Whats the chance of you taking a few pictures of those Macks for the 1/1 reference page?......... -

JT Hi thanks Its been fun so far. Ive been wanting to relocate the tank for a bit now . My only thought is that there must be a pump somwhere ? Yes the PTO drive shaft was bugging me when I did the DM800. Its just the same as the paystar . Ive still got to change the Mack -
Richard thats very nice Im glad you didnt go red Do you put BMF on the badges before you paint?

Thanks Sean There is still a lot to do, Lots of wet flating now! . Plus the barel needs a lot more body work and there will be more pipes and wires for the chassis . The Macks are some of my favorites truck too . The dm 800 still needs some airbrushing doing to it and some small bits to finish . The dm600 has been finished for years now and it has an early KFS mixer on it -

Thanks everyone James the engine has come out better than I thought .I made use of the great reference that I got on here for the wires .The paint is just white acrilic and then bathed in some whitespirits and matt enamel earth then put in a rag and mop up the exess . This leaves a mottled effect on engine then the manifolds where painted with mig powders and a bit of earth for rust. Thanks for looking more soon Dave -
Thats Wild I will be watchin but not if it takes 6 years

Hi all well just a little update for you.As you can see we have primed everything .
