5 model cars or trucks you wish were made.
Nxr replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1) Oldsmobile 88 or 98 from 1971-73 with the odd headlight position. Also the same car from 1959 would make a great kit as well. 2) 1958-1960 Mercury Montclair 4 door. I mean seriously look at those tail lights, looks like a BMF heaven. 3) Buick Invicta from 1959, or honestly any 1958, 59, 60 Buicks, i find them so beautiful and so important in the classic car field yet they were never kitted aside from very expensive promo's, but since this is a kit thread i won't include promos as an alternative, since they are not kits. 4) AMC Ambassador 4 door of any year, rare car, very rare. 5) Chrysler New Yorker/300/Newport from 1974-1978, i want so many of these to make a fleet and one to make a weathered and beaten car from the show " trailer park boys" to replicate ricky's dreaded new yorker. Okay i know this is more than five but i couldn't resist because i think that Canadian cars need a special place in the model world, they have very interesting varieties there and i would love to see more Canadian based classics. 6) Acadian Beaumont, 1969 7) Acadian Canso, 1967 8) Meteor Rideau ( any year or generation, great car) 9) Meteor Montcalm ( any year) 10) 1967 Pontiac Laurentian -
Only Robert De Niro is cool when asking the age old bodies in trunk question, well Joe Pesci too!

looking for Info on AMT 1968 Mustang Shelby 500

Look at the price of this, some of those promos go for that much! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Chrysler-Imperial-Conv-Promo-graded-9-out-of-10-13595-/171156489612?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item27d9b8c58c But for the Shelby kit i have it in their latest lime green molding edition, it seems like a great round2 kit today and i am sure the quality of the US made 90s kit might be better because of the white plastic like people have mentioned before easier to paint than the green plastic but both work. -
Gotta admit though not every single person who is wrong about the car on the car shows is a tool, sometimes you meet some good people who are just curious and don't know much about the field of classic cars.

honestly it was mostly the fact that they paid 8.75$ an hour in new york city and there was barely any work to begin with. You cannot survive here for 980$ dollars a month, that's just a laughing joke. I am sure people will tell me how hard they worked with lower wages and such in other places but trust me, you cant do anything here for 980$ a month! Got myself an interview at Columbia University for their groundskeeper job which is like 17/hr plus benefits and full time right away, unlike these corporate giants who will make u work part time 40 hours just to not give you benefits or full holiday pay. My rent alone here is 1050$ for a one BR apartment in Bensonhurst Brooklyn, is rather low since most people pay 1500+ these days so i got lucky. You could get something cheaper here but it will be in a location such as crown heights or bushwick. Also i am sure more autozone horror stories around here, i am quite sure that company is probably more appreciated in the south or mid west but i prefer napa or pepboys all the way.

AMC cars always get mistaken, the Scrambler always gets taken for a dodge and the amx or javelin seems to somehow make people think its a gt 500 or a mustang.

Your favourite Box art

This one! The Mercury 71 Cyclone kit by mpc seems to pretty much relate to the status of the real car, absolutely nobody cares much about them and there is very few around, probably as many kits as cars in total, while honestly being the best looking muscle car, in my opinion. I would probably buy like 6 of these if they were re released, a big gap in the performance ford collection. -
Happy Veterans day, Thank you for the courage and for having the guts to be sent to wars and be deployed, i cant even myself imagine how scary that is, to be in actual combat in places such as vietnam, okinawa or bastogne or many other military targets of various wars. Thank you again because i would never be able to even get on the airplane that sent those man parachuting down into the enemy lines, I can no longer step on any plane anymore due to a very large personal fear, A phobia i suppose. Would be interesting to hear combat stories and such or what it was like to hear rapid gunfire or be next to such danger. I cant even imagine.

I meant more like commercial rap such as kanye, drake, etc anything that is considered popular and will play on radio, versus artists such as jedi mind tricks, dj premier, the roots, sharpshooters, mobb deep. Eminem's really not that mainstream because he is a seasoned rapper and has been around and done it all... If you listen to his very first album infinite, which was released on a mixtape it contains songs such as it's okay, which is the best underground eminem song, with him being only 18 on it and using the traditional Detroit-ambient beat style, which is rarely around! Also artists such as Atmosphere are just great, few Minnesotan rappers around.
-
I don't deny your opinion but rap music has some long, lost respected underground artists that had their genre entirely destroyed by today's mainstream.
-
if you guys really want a respectful and proper rap artist, try sharpshooters- analyze or group home, i know rap music is not the highlight here but these artists are worth looking into by anyone.

How about crown victoria LTD's and early victorias from about 85-87 and the first gen from like 88 to 91 i believe, the elegant one. I honestly would even rock a 70's LTD's or galaxy but i imagine i would cause too many pissed off import drivers while taking 10 years to park in a tight Brooklyn spot As for the town car and 500,000 miles, that makes me feel proud because i will always love that car, being the last "classic" based car to be made with white walls and all that. Dont you, Charlie agree that the new Lincoln mkt or whatever with town car badges, does not deserve such an honorable name on such a robust looking car? Comfortable inside though... wont lie, but ugly! -
what exactly is so bad about the black bodies/parts? A good shot of floquil primer would fix that, i mean i have kits molded in yellow purple green red brown black metallic blue and all sorts of off whites. After i do the primer i cant tell them apart really.

Loser cars: All awesomely lame, but which is king?
Nxr replied to Faust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i dont know, i just dont have anything against those cars. they are still less embarrassing than a kia soul or a nissan juke... but as for the vote, i am guessing the pacer only because that large back window is so odd. -

you know i thought of that too, i see them for around 1400$ with LX hubcaps or marquis hubcaps. The striking presence on the road, esp if you got the black car and keep the police hubcaps is certainly menacing! Great CHaika btw, i remember as a kid those cars were often used for weddings after their soviet retirement after 1991, this was about 1995-1996, Back in Saint Petersburg they had a very nice wedding service that offered chaikas, zils and sometimes even a town car or a Cadillac deville ( which in 1990s russia was like a super awesome deal) -

Baltimore is just flooded with cheap cars and horrible stereos, that's a given. Also why hasn't anyone mentioned this? BLACKED out tail lights and the eastern european ego's that drive their leased German cars with BLACKED out tail lights that i cannot see at 3 am and no you do not have to go 71 mph on coney island avenue's 40 mph speed limit to pass me by, honk at me and then blink your stupid headlights at me like you are so cool and important! ARGH!
