One fun Wrangler

Did you have fitment issues with the interior side panels? I've got my seats in and now the panels aren't wanting to line up -
I have been on here lately looking up past threads on airbrushing. everybody has their own method that they use and I have been trying a couple of them. Tonight I decided to paint some interior parts of my Jeep with Model Master enamel in gloss black.I thinned it down with Testors enamel thinner and brush cleaner to a ratio that seem to be about 2% milk. At first I could get anything to come out with my regulator set to 23-25psi. I thinned it down more and then it was just too thin. I finally cleaned out that mess and tried again and mixed some to a ration of no clue, and sprayed that back over it. Coverage seems fine now I decanted some testors lacquer and had no problem at all working with that. I'm looking for what people's rations are and with what paint. I have a Paasche H set and a 3 gallon compressor with reg. I've recently been switching to Tamiya acrylics and have yet to use those yet as I've seen people use water and lacquer thinner. Please post here or message me to help lead in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I'm building the exact same kit. I wanted to open it up but didn't want to take on that task. The spare tire carrier is awesome. Where did you pick up the extra tire from? I had to scratch build the rear half of my transfer case. For some reason it just wasn't in the kit -
please build this. one of my favorite movies ever. that car should be interesting to make with the interior being the way it is. best of luck. Im paying attention to this one for sure

First off, painting bodies is my favorite thing to do, but Im terrible at it. I start by trimming flash/scribing lines/general body work when and where it's needed. I then take a toothbrush and use the toothpaste to give the paint some footing. My model is a '62 Thunderbird that I am spraying MM Wimbeldon White. The body was molded in white, so I did not use any primer (some of you will shame me for this, but I currently don't have any white primer) SO, I have my first mist coat of the lacquer on. Where do I go from here? This is my first white car and the last thing I want to do is thrash the body not following a proper procedure. I do have a can of MM Ultra Gloss Clearcoat that I would like to use as well. (Ive never cleared or polished any of my cars for the reason of not being able to find a solid set of directions to fit my exact application. Thank you in advance for any and all help. Its much appreciated

Paint Process Opinions

is the clear to be shot on while the final coat of paint is wet? or should the car be painted and gas out before spraying clear? -
I would love to see some of the cars over there and how things are set up. I was just at a local drag strip by me last Saturday. My friends car who we went with, it went 11.1 and then we blew out one of the half shafts :/ Shop in the states. This is one of their track cars going mid 9's Loved your pictures

She doesnt understand a thing I say, but she says she likes to listen and see what it all looks like when it comes together. Ill do this and she will watch one of her shows (that I can tolerate to listen to/glance at )

I like the way it looks too. With the seats covered, the tonneau doesnt sit all that well with the body and the rests for the seat. there would be alot of body work I dont want to try out on this one required

Im building this one for my wife. I let her pick out any car she wanted at the LHS and this was the one that she liked the most. We are doing a white exterior with red interior and a WHOLE lot of chrome on this thing. She wanted to go the roadster route, but didnt like that. this will be a convertible through and through. Here the seats are in with the roadster top on it (going with the white walls) I cant get the lighting right, but I can assure you the red is not nearly as eye burning as it looks. Front and rear seats done Center console and dash painted with some trim applied And then the door panels MANY of the spots that look like they have chrome spilled on them are just shine spots from the lighting. this has been one of my best so far (which may or may not being saying much) Ive got alot of the suspension currently drying in gloss black. The under carriage is flat black and drying as well. I should have the tub more or less assembled this evening STAY TUNED!! (criticism welcome)

wires complete

not the best interior, but its done first time ever wiring a car. took apart some old electronics and used electrical tape to make the boots and just another random pic

got the interior tub painted. seats installed. some small little details on the door and tie down strap in the hatch. I didnt think just the seats should be leather so I painted the armrest/center console and tried my hand at making it look like leather. I sanded and painted the chasis from where I put the putty. I had to shorten the rear-end. I didnt realize it was as wide as it was and left the wheels sticking out waaaay to far, so i cut the connectors and sanded them smooth for a tighter finish. Im just going to hard glue them to the wheel backs. If they dont tuck tight enough like that, Im going to try and grind down the backside of the wheel to recess it a little more
