  1. i just want a reasonably priced 'more modern' pickup
  2. turbo is great. nicely done
  3. Any pictures next to a 1/24 or 1/25 by chance
  4. Does the ronco seem to be the go-to here http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/512YENSM00L.jpg
  5. Also curious of the fan purchase
  6. How well does it collect the fumes for exhausting them? My thoughts were the fan/motor wouldn't be strong enough. It would be tamiya acrylics and some enamels. Doesn't look like a spray can would work with the size it is
  7. I live in Washington so the amount of warmth year round is not that much combine that with losing an hour of sunlight soon and you get the picture I love the idea of building my own but with work (active duty Army) and a year and a half old son, time isn't bountiful in the first place. I'm hoping for a parts list and plans for construction that are straight forward OR first hand experience with the portable or smaller hobby ones from eBay or Amazon. I've done research on here and couldn't come up with too much either in their favor or against them I'd be using it for 1/24 and 1/25 cars/trucks. It would be in a downstairs bedroom off the main entrance/kitchen/family room so keeping the fumes down is a MUST. And the windows are on a horizontal frame. Any and all help would be appreciated, hoping to have this done (either route) by the 15th
  8. a couple of 10/0 brushes. as well as Rustoleum semi gloss black, satin ivory silk, and satin summer squash
  9. today: was a rainy one, got a little done at the bench. Spent alot of time doing alot of small tedious things tomorrow: fantasy football draft in the am and a run to the store for some steaks. hopefully making progress on the bench projects Monday: celebrate my birthday (which is tuesday)
  10. Sister sent me a hobby lobby gift card for my bday. Got a tamiya weathering kit (snow, soot, rust), Testors acrylic thinner, Testors gts blue lacquer, Testors gloss clear, some wet sand sandpaper, a black gloss and flat black paint pen. And I think that was all. Oh, and got a set of the pre painted te37s in a brownish paint
  11. I've seen them, they seem pricey. I wish it was as easy as cars and trucks to recreate things for them
  12. came home to a hasegawa impreza wrx. Im most impressed by the piece of material inside the kit that is meant to be peeled and stuck to the interior tub as if it were carpet, and for an seemingly older kit, all the windows had paint masks provided for them
  13. I got it for a good deal at a show and started working on it. I was surprised at how much I liked doing it vs 1/24 and 1/25 cars, I think the larger pieces had something to do with it, or it was just a change of pace for me Didn't really know how to 'mod' too much on a bike as Im not all to familiar with them. I see soooooo much room for improvement, but I guess compared to the amount of completed cars vs ones started over my 'career' in models, starting a bike and getting it finished was kind of big for me
  14. Im sure youve seen this thread based on your car youre building. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77797 *do you plan on going to the OHMS show in a month?
  15. what side solder did you use for the turbo and then for the header?
  16. gorgeous bike. the gold on the forks is incredible also like the heat stain on the exhaust. well done kit
  17. So it sounds like if I want to clear over tamiya, I have to use Testors or tamiya clears. Nothing really from a home improvement or Walmart type store
  18. Any idea how it does over tamiya acrylics and their rattle cans? Ill have to look into where carries this locally to me
  19. I am in love with the engine bay. looks like there is plenty of room for a pair of hair dryers and some piping...haha
  20. I love builds like this! looks great. Where did the 2JZ start from? is it all scratch?
