  1. Thanks a lot for the paint references . I will def give on of those a try! . Very nice mustangs by the way! If you want THE paint, you can order '68 Ford Highland Green from Model Car World. Model Master British Green is a bit dark, but might be acceptable, depending on how close you need to be. Here are two Bullitt Mustangs I've built. The darker one in the foreground is a Mini Exotics resin painted with MM Brit Green. The lighter one is a Revell diecast kit with the out-of-the-box paint. I think it's closer to the real color. If you're airbrushing, you can start with the MM Brit Green and add a little Turn Signal Amber to lighten it. I don't have a formula for this--just do it by eye. ETA: Just realized you might also want to look at Model Master Fathom Green lacquer. This is a '69 Chevy color but also might work if you can't get anything better. The '69 Nova in the foreground of this pic is painted MM Fathom Green:
  2. Thanks a lot guys , I tried my best with the paint job. For some reason silver sharpie looked better on this one instead of bmf for trim. I feel like I still have a lot to Learn about paint jobs, but every build is a learning experience! .
  3. This is a mpc 86 el camino . The kit was not the greatest I've built so far. Idk it's an ok build .
  4. Very nice build, I love the paintjob on this one
  5. Looks very nice, I love the wheels
  6. nice build!, I have the same kit, the kit comes with redline decals.
  7. Another funny video, no need for cat back exhaust , or fart back exhaust as the other guy called it haha.
  8. Haha funny clip. quote name="Aaronw" post="1287261" timestamp="1413695109"]Oh, and just because this give me an excuse to post this Fast & the Furious Stockholm style I'm assuming this is a parody, but there really are people out there getting 400+ hp out of Volvo's 1980s era 2.3 liter turbo 4 cyl. The old brick is apparently becoming popular with the tuner and drifting crowd.
  9. Hi, does any one know of a good color or spray can I can use to make the bullit mustang?
  10. Tuners kinda remind me of when lowriders hit the scene. Lowriders were highly opposed by authorities and the general population, there was a long list of stereotypes against people who drove lowriders. How dare you rebel against society and drive these cars with such a low ground clearance? destroying our infrastructure (as they claimed in the 70s). Hydraulics came into existence to resolve that issue, if there is a cop around , just raise your car up a few inches ! Haha. Before hydraulics, the lowered ride height was for the most part permanent, it's not like they could pull over and untie the chains used to lower their suspensions before the cops caught up with them. The new tuner scene is pretty much the same, younger crowd, shiny paint, lowered ride height, except it has not really kicked off really well, and learned to be appreciated over this past decade and a half. The hobby was at its peak during the lowriding scene. The tuner fad is now for these youngsters, the majority in this hobby are still those baby boomers who experienced the lowrider era, and the golden years of the modeling industry.
  11. I think that "tuned" svts, Hennessey vipers , or corvettes would fall into the modern muscle car category. Tuners remind me of 4bangers, regular sedans hooked up with body kits and spoilers , loud mufflers, loud exhaust. It's all subjective however.
  12. Wow cool model car kit that is defying gravity ! Whats the trick?

    1967 Camaro

Very nice camaro, idk about the wheels though. Beautiful car otherwise
  14. I kno anything over 115f in the dehydrator will cause warping on some models , so maybe anything 115+
  15. What is the point of this question?
  16. Sorry for late response, but that is one funny story! Yea i was in my teens, and even I thought they were pretty cool. They looked very modern for their time, plus a nice flower came with everyone one of these lol. So the VW beetle had some mechanical issues uh? . curious to know what kind. Maybe you can get yourself a new beetle this time around! Much awaited update i would think for some beetle enthusiast.
  17. Will do, a good primer is always good for added protection I use Duplicolor ( and plasticote engine paint ) engine enamel all the time. like mentioned a good primier first is all thats required
  18. Hey how's it going kennyboy? It's nice talking or messaging u again, That looks pretty good! I will use the spray can for now with a good primer underneath. Thanks for the tips!
  19. That looks pretty good, I'll go and buy one if these cans without fear now. It just looked like it was some pretty serious paint since it can withstand heat and everything up to 500f lol.
  20. I am currently in the market for a chevy engine red spraypaint, is this spray paint safe for model cars? Or are the solvents too hot?
  21. Yea I think the new beetle looks pretty nice, they should make a kit of it, I doubt they will, this was a iconic comeback, complete new styling since the 60s .i remember a lot of people heard or talked about the new beetle, even the ones that didn't like em lol.
  22. I think I'm gonna have to go with the cover off on this one, shows the el caminos true lines without them
  23. Idk what do you guys think? Cover on or off?
  24. Thanks for the facts , I will have to add bmf on this one , even tho the trim line is quite small to wrk with .
