What do you do before building a Diorama ????
crazyrichard replied to Barbo's topic in WIP: Dioramas
i did nothing , just started building with no real fixed plan .. sure here and there you change stuff you previously build and put time in but so far this wat works for me .. in between when i wnt to make stuff i just look on google images ... -
wel i got stuck a bit , i want to add more machines but i have this massive floorspace but putting them on the floor would look wird maybe .. so i'm planning to make a stone wall in the middle of the garage with a wide passage door , hen on both sides i can place more machines and stuff .. thats the issue when you start building without a plan lol so for now continued some smaller details > put 2 small speakers on the hanging cabinet and under the cabinet i made a head-unit > on the rolling work / parts table i hung a dirty cloth (on the handle) > and made 2 wooden shelfs next to the wall cabinet made the base and iside of the cup on the cabinet black and put a 300 sl badge on the wooden shelf , not real hotrod but i liked it.. car nuts like more cars then hotrods only made the wood draker and stained it btw my garage isnt your maintenance type its more like so-cal , just a speedshop where they build rods

First Time.........little Garage.
crazyrichard replied to my name is nobody's topic in WIP: Dioramas
nice and clean .. one thing cam,e to mind , i would get the lift of the base plate and glue that direct on the checkered floor , that would look twice as good -
hey guys thnx !!! and well yes the fire extinguisher issue sounds logical yes didnt really put in a lot of thought , well maybe i will scratch some new ones (this one was from the fujimi kit) yesterday i made a standing closet / file ... upstairs most of my pictures are shot in the evening when its dark , while im building on some the weathering might come across real extreme .. now i do want a dirty and lived garage but this pics i took when i came home just now and are lighter .. on these you can see its not that extreme at least thats what i think you should see the garage at my work (transport company and maintenance of big machines and loaders) thats 3 times as dirty hahaha

finished the oil catcher cart painted and weathered the oil drum (made out of 3 rims) finetuned the paint on the minirod and put pinstripe decals on the file cabinet , will get some clear so the silvering is gone and the cabinet shines pinstripes op de kast , komt nog een laagje clear over dan glimt de kast en zijn de randjes vd decal niet meer zo zichtbaa volgende op de aganda is een grote kast boven waar nu de grote poster hangt en daar werkplaatsboeken en catalogussen in zetten

thnx !! and yes the fujimi kit is def a must for a garage , the tools would be hard to make right and get them to look decent i do have the drive to change as much as possible waht i use from the kit .. so far most is sratchbuild and some things have junk , fujimi kit parts and styrene in them lol painted the mini rod , the black needs tyding up when the red is dry but i;m very happy with the result uing a small pin i was even able to paint the windows , rims and grille just usd chrome for all those parts first made the file cabinet where the rod will sit on made doorknobs and a real wooden top in place the rod >> oil drum made of 3 old rims totally changed the oil cather as well base layer of red waighting for more paint and decalling all the barrels , jerycans and drum together seen from a normal distance

thnx thomas you know how it is sometimes it takes a while before you find the right look and feel ... and since i never have a fixed plan when building something i was lucky today found a hudge model house in a build skip thats ment as a example for builders to show potential buyers i ripped of a few parts .. most will be used in a new diorama , when this one is finished want to make a more modern looking garage especially for taking pics of my completed models , this one is to detailed and it only distracts so those parts will become a photoboot garage then a got a package a guy milled a tiny ford hotrod for me this will sit in the garage , how cool is that cut a cubbord to size and i will make a wooden top on that and place the rod (then painted) on the cubbord yesterday i started a oil catch cart for cars on the bridge i probable will make a second better version not 100 % statisfied

thats cool , looks great

hey thnx and no problem last details on the rolling table , some wood stain on the wood (second coat) decals on the top of the box , oil can and wrech set also did one on the can in the haging case / shelf , also now the cart is seen from a more normal distance and looks more like in real life on this pic got a welder from fujimi from a guy so i had 2 , this is the one i got and it was already assmebled i sanded it and painted it green light washes then added the fujimi camera and phone , the phone needs more paint , the cam is done
-
awsome result ! love it
-
thnx and i have a nothe one btw on some zoomed in pics it seems very dirty but overall its not that extreme .. thats always the issue with making close-ups i guess i made a small cartbord nox on the rolling worktable with a pen as reference for the scale / size then made a larger cartbox box on the bench with a carb plate in it then totally changed the grease tray , made 2 larger sections with black mesh and so now the greese barrels can sit on the left and when i made a big oil drum it can sit on the right the glued some brass and plastic tubes in the barrels so i can use that as base for a pump system
-
started the detail on the rolling table , some wrenches and files and a oil can then put a wrench set on it painted that red and with a wooden pin made the sockets and ....? chrome (one cast piece from fujimi) then the mechanic came by and grrrr he made a right mess of it , spilled oil out of the can did 3 more oil cans from the fujimi kit , one red and yellow one on the left shelf and a green one in the hanging closet / cubbord (?) and painted the oil catch funnel
-
because i dont want to use to much that is recognisable from the fujimi kit i used the shelf case and made that into a rolling table with turning wheels and a real wooden top after some weathering and wood stain ...
-
thnx yes that is just sitting there for now , so much to make still atm building a rolling table for parts and stuff first hang some big vintage posters on the left wall , need some pins or maybe a frame to make it more real
