  1. thnx actually i just recently started real weathering and sort of found my way into this .. what i found out on the garage is that it pays of to paint matt blkack shadowlines along all the beems , and all stuff in the garage , some dont show right away but thats the main thing fot me that i found really helped to give it a nicer feel .. and i'm not a expert by far still learning so much new stuff and yes i just love the older dirty garage's so much more then clean and sterile ones .. i have seen a number of places irl where they looked soemwhat similair to this. now a dealers garage for maintenence wont look as dirty off-course but i do want to build a clean one in the future , not real big like this but more one suited for taking pics of my models in yes i know and still planning to make that handrail ...... didnt come to start that yet now thats really a great idea , thnx !!!!!!!!! you know what i have like this roll of aluminum tape its real thick and really aluminum , ususally i used that for fixing parts on for paint but that stuff is perfect if i bend that it just stays in that shape , it almost bends like brass tubes and stays .. oh yes you gave me a awsome idea !!! thnx !!!
  2. nice ! looks great
  3. awsome , i have been scouting the net in holland for a kit like this , there are other versions as well , to bad they are really expensive over here (more then what i want to pay) awsome base kit for a custom rod / unique build but also cool stock , nice work already
  4. ooooo000h awsome , the wheels and stance are great and the colors perfect
  5. nice job !! great stance i even removed all the springs on that axle on my last 2 builds and made like a new leaf spring , made the axle fall in the chassis and fitted the new leaf springs .. but then the schocks need new plates and some filing to be fitted again
  6. OOH YES , THATS YET AGAIN SOOO COOL , awsome job on the line up and fitting everything together , must have taken some fine messurements just so awsome to follow
  7. awsome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. hmmm nice kit !! curious about the rest
  9. looking great , and guys i thik he will change the grille shell its still not primered so i recon that will be chopped as well (?)
  10. ooh yeah this is turning out just plain perfect , just love it
  11. great progress , but you said you dont have any experience with modelkits ?? this looks far from that so what have you been building / doing previous to modelkits ?? you must have been making stuff either professional or for a hobby if you get these results on a first kit keep the updates coming
  12. awsome job just looks perfect
  13. whow , i really dont know about the issues that are going on , i do know i'm relativly new here and this forum has already pushed me to become better . mainly the pure inpriration and imo great atmosphere that just is everywhere here on the forum is what inspired me !! so it would be really sad if this forum closed because for me modelbuilding wise this is the mekka on rods , customs and all american cars
  14. well just went on and painted the added strips on the wall and gave the wood the first wood-stain coat made the edge around the oild and grease thing dirty and then did the whole square but wiped it with a moist cloth so it looked like somebody mopped the earea a bit on the zoomed in shots it often looks very extreme , here on the further away shots you see its not that extreme dirt and filth wise
  15. thnx guys , well so much to make and build so not finished for a while even the rolling door is only the base , the door needs a ton of hinges , a frame with curve into the ceiling , the panels that are missing because its opened need to sit folded in the ceiling frame on the garage windows i was planning like a tube system operated from below so they can "open" them (not 4 real)
  16. went on with the partition wall , made a thick edge and on the machine side 2 wooden shelfs then made a yellow line to indicate the chemical / oil area i could do like a thin fence in front of the barrels ...
  17. thnx made a partician (?? right word ??) on the wall to keep the sparks on the machine side and protect the barrels a bit after some paint and weathering
  18. my base is as thick as the side edges you see on some pictures , a pit would be possible but then you would have to make like a large tray under the whole diorama to close it and the whole dio had space under the floor so you can make a pit there .. if you really would want a person down there standing it would have to be pretty deep .. that is what kept me from making that .. i do want to make something like what you said but i would do that on a dio twice as small as this i think yesterday i was pretty worn out from the work week so i didnt do much i did lower the small mercedes car , wheels will be painted and the body will also get a new color going to add a antenna and scratch a control an turn it into a rc car washed the 300 sl gadge with black for some depth and did that on the parts on the bench as well on this pic you see the car head unit stereo hanging under the cabinet irl it all looks more friendly to the eye these are close ups and shot when dark so everything looks more black and weathered as on the eye and further away
  19. yes those starbucks stir sticks are sooo awsome recently i found out that the wooden coffee stir sticks from ikea are great as well !!!!!!!!!!!
  20. just so realistic !!!!!!!! awsome stuff !!!
  21. hey thnx and yes stuff like that will be incorporated in the diorama , i have all of these number plate decals , because i cant make myself use them on my hotrods .. so i was thinking of sticking them on a thin piece of styrene so they are thicker and maybe drill holes in the corners where scews where maybe even bend one a bit ... i'm kinfd of deviding my work between the smaller and larger details so it doesnt get boring and gradually grows every update yesterdat i was lying in bed and got the idea when i have all the roof beams done to make like a real roof but on a hinge so when you open the whole top the roof steel stays on the diorama but the roof opens ...
  22. i have found like these hard wooden strips of wood in a local modelstore .. works so good and you can really sand and saw it and it strong balsa wood is soo light and fragile .. balsa is great when you need a very light weight object and you want to give it some shape , its easy to sand in a shape and stuff .. for real construstions like in a garage i would choose something strong
  23. made a lower small wall from styrene with brickwork on it , maybe i will make a second one , this alows me to build more amchines and place them there and create like a machine shop area but still keep a overall clear vieuw first draft / base wood on top some wood stain and wall weathering , the white edges will get some paint as well some pics with staff and rod , the glossy clothes on the staff is due to halogen lighting above the rable , that makes everything shine irl they are not glossy
  24. looks awsome !!
