t-bucket hotrod , touring model > t-bucket conversion
crazyrichard replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Model Cars
thnx guys well actually did not had a set plan in the beginning , first wanted to try the long chassis with drag wheels in front.. then found some cool pics of short wheel base buckets and just loved the whole look of them and tooold yes the body actually was hacked up pretty good .. what i like most myself is that untill now everything is done using only the content of the kit , no added styreen not that adding styreen is a bad thing no def. not but its just fun to see that you can convert a kit using 99% of the kit also just happened did not do that on purpose -

changed the brake booster , i hate it and i will use some reference on the net and make a complete scratch version later the underside came out smooth so the body sides flow over into the bottom with smooth corners sides are pretty sleak as well closed the floor section i made a small fake tunnel just felt it looked a bit better instead of all flat the firewall lines match nice with the seat found a cool interiour pic of a t -
what i do like is that you can design parts and print parts that are not available , stuff with hard shapes .. so def has a lot of potential for the future

reading all of this makes me feel 3-d printing is awsome .. but for me i would say i like the idea more for making parts like wheels and suspension to ad to a kit maybe.. i love a printed finished model but it kind of lacks a soul .. its like when people build a bike (just an example) with all waterjet parts and clean as ...it looks great .. but then park a handbuild bike next to it .. whow what a difference .. not flaming 3-d printing at all , i think its a great thing with lots of potential ... but its not something i would like to get into i like cutting plastic and making stuff by hand and putting in time with your hands that said its def very cool to watch and see ... dont get me wrong

dont mind the brake set up on the firewall , i realised i screwed that up and ..... going to change that used the roof to make a smooth underside on the rear , now the rear will flow into the rear bottom nicely sanded the rough shape into it some bondo shortened the drive shaft after the frame was shortened made a small round space in the firewall , maily for looks it ran free of the engine / trans but this looks better -

hey , made a firewall today from a side of the hood , with the louvres on it , on the flat parts on the right i made a brake booster i used a old revell booster and made the top half as big , made it sit more fluch against the wall and added a new top then shortened the chassis to get the look like i showed with the reference pics with the body on not doing a rear tank , want a clear rear end where the dif and suspension is visible also reglued the top part of the window , the chopped window made it look weird and too small , now you can see a person looks big in it due to the window hight love this chassis like this visible , something different from closed rails for ounce later when everything is sorted out i will make some extra support members in between the chassis (from side to side) -

thnx hak and @ Jantrix hmm could be cool but i'm thinking of shortening the chassis and adding a nice fat v8 .. kind of had that in my mind and love the look that way , but def. could be cool to do a long inline engine ! -

hey , thnx ! and yes i didnt use the knock off spinners because i didnt feel they looked right on this particulair build .. i know ,, it kinda needs them since there are no lug nuts .. maybe i will make somehing different in the center , it will get some work done in the future with cables and stuff (when i have the rights stuff)
