Saving instructions
crazyrichard replied to Terry Jessee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
ooeehh i always trow away the instructions .. dont care for them.. in a fact i maybe use like a small part of the instructions for a build since most is build up my own way i seldom go through the whole instruction sheet but i can def. understand it can be cool to save all the old instructions .. i trow them away because at one point in my life i desided not to keep everything (like stuff) i could easely become a horder or a person that collects and keeps every sily thing they own , thats in me .. so i decided at one point not to hang on to certain stuff anymore -
thnx i thought the racer was too clean , like something was missing . i usually dont like flames on cars but these where the best option i had from what i had lying around . and well when they where on i really liked it. the decals have had a mild white wash to blend in with the salt weathering .. and made a bar on the back of the racer where the truck's pushbar can push against

only on my garage diorama , because i started a car build and had so much fun the diorama is still on hold with cars (kits) i have never had that problem , i just build one project / kit at a time and only when its done i move on to the next .. atm i have 4 new boxes waighting and every time i see them i think > hmm love to start one but i dont because i know i wont be interested enough in the current project
-
i do have a question , why do people buy that many boxes just to put on shelfs ? dotn get me wrong i think it looks freaking cool and i would love to go through those collections and see whats in them .. already see coolness in the pics .. but in a way i dont really get it .. i mean you guys are never going to build all the kits in this life time , some people have multiple kist (the same) and i understand some are rare and might become real valuable .. atm i have 4 kits in stock myself and those are already burning on the shelf ... ooh i want to start them so bad my way is more like i want to build one kit at a time and i would def. like to make a collection of boxes , just i would want to have boxes in stock i want to build and wil build in a certain time frame .. so anybody wish to explain the idea / feeling / drive behind the hudge collections ? like is that a hobby on its own , just the collecting of kits ? and again dont get me wrong i think its awsome to see such extensive kit collections > love it

haha thnx man !!!! for years i have been doing automotive renderings and maybe some know about autemo , i'm an artist there .. but since a year or half a year i have not done anything .. the modelcar hobby is just more statisfying , something you can really hold and rotate irl and hands on beats virtual stuff anytime .. but when i looked at one of the last posted pics i got an idea , the shot was taken on a blanc painters canvas and using fotoshop i (done quick) made the visible part of my living room white also , removed the green light fall and added just a simple filter this filter erases noise in the pic , sharpens details and at the same time makes it kind of more blurred and soft almost to the painted look so i didnt alter anything on my model just a all white backdrop and a filter .. if i would make real good shots especially to do this stuff the results could be way better , this was just done in 5 minutes because i got the idea
