hey all , this kit is the revell monogram dan fink speed wagon , i build this kit already ounce. it was the second modelkit i ever build . i cut out all the wood panels and placed real wood in there . made it fenderless also recently i build a custom (kitbash) hotrod towtruck (dually) that build is in the pick up vans and ... section under glass . that body was wrecked and i used the woody body and cut that up for the towtruck. a few weeks back i bid on a set of 3 32 ford kits and this speedwagon was one of them the boxart

'37 windshield replacement?
crazyrichard replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i think thats the way to go , make 2 separate pieces of glass and make them sit against eitch other in the right angle , so the edges that touth need to be sanded in a anlge . then glue them with clear glue and maybe poilsh the glass a bit and if you ant one piece and you heat it then it def. wrinkles where you toutch it , would only work if you make the ends longer then only heat it a tiny bit and slowly bend it , but imo its really hard to make that sharp edge without ruining the glass -
hmm i never tried it , sounds interesting .. but ... for me most kit chrome looks too unrealistic and betetr said very rough .. i mean the moldlines are often there and for me personally respraying it always looks better now and this is a shame in holland we have like diy markets called gamma and they sell silver spray cans .. in holland moddelers call that can gamma chrome , because when you spray it on your modelparts it just looks like chrome , maybe a bit ess shiney but i love the look alcad always looks great as well but as for the matter of clearing chrome i would just try it out .. i think clearing it high gloss only would add some depth and maybe a more shiney surface when light hits it , the more matte clear would maybe tone down the kit chrome a bit and i think that maybe would make it more realistic just a csse of trying it out i guess i sprayed this with the silver spraycan i talked about the whole engine got a base coat of that as well here is a good shot when some light hits it , dont mind that body that was the first rough weathering of flyrust , needed to be toned down a lot on this pic the grille shell got some more grey layers so dont mind that , on the engine and blower thats the silver spraycan also works greaton small details , just spray it in a bowl and i use wooden pics and put it on with the tip and for instance on a rim now i realize irl chrome reflects more but i find on models this just looks awsome and its real scheap , sprays great and flows awsome maybe you can try a spraycan silvergray semi gloss form a store neir you ? sure alcad and other paints give even nicer results but i find the stuff i use very good and cheap some might want a more chrome look reflection wise ?

thnx !! well this racer is made out of an old left over busted body and some spare parts i could find (even some stuff out of a old formula 1 kit) one day i def. want to make a noher one and then use a full kit so i can really make a big project out of it. this racer was actually done just to put on the trailer and as a test for salt weathering .. i'm also planning on making a belly tank racer and maybe score a old airplain kit and use the hull of the plain as a body

well that wood on the outside of the bed , the dash that really brings more variation in the whole car !! , looks awsome this way i would almost say makea wooden frame on the roof see through like with no outer skin in the same wood / color that way it will all tie in together the diamond idea for the roof is also cool but making it a wood frame > hmm i think that would look sooo good -
thnx guys , and no i have not started teh trailer , i'm curently looking for a cheap old trailer to use the parts from , hope to get one very very cheap as i find a kit to expensive for what i am planning , most will be scratch and a all wooden floor (real wood) also i will put smaller siz wheels on it from my partsbox so i can keep the floor low and make a gooseneck , so the base can be an old trailer from any kind
