  1. Thanks again fellas. I decided this one was done, although I could spend many more months detailing it...it is now in the Under Glass section.
  2. I finally decided to call this one done and move on to the next one. Probably could've spent a year detailing this, but it's good enough for me.
  3. Thanks fellas. The kit is the Lindberg (AMT) '34 Ford 3 n 1. I used red oxide primer on everything. Then I sprayed flat black from about a foot away onto everything. Once dry I applied Sophisticated Finishes iron paint in the spots I wanted rusted. I used an old, wide brush. This is where the effect comes in. I "blotted" instead of used typical brush strokes. It gets a more random pattern this way. After it dried I applied Modern Masters Rust Activator and let dry. I repeated this until the desired effect was achieved. The serious body rust and cancer was done with a Dremel from the back side. No real way to go wrong here, just tried to make it as random looking as I could. Still needs some touch up. I used a small lighter to make the dents. The good thing about building these rustbuckets is there really is no right or wrong way to do it, just experiment. Thanks again!
  4. Here is my latest WIP...'34 Ford wrecker project. I built it as a truck that was a service station wrecker back in the 30's and 40's, chopped and rodded in the 50's, and then put out to pasture. Now it's too far gone to be restored, lol. Eventually the tires will be flat and all the rest of the finishing details will be done.
  5. Great job!
  6. Yea, it has the automatic transmission in it, but also the clutch pedal and manual shifter. It also has Chevy hubcaps. And you are correct, it was 2004, not 1994.
  7. More pics from another site. http://denxart.blogspot.com/2011/05/1979-ford-f150-pickup-truck-sam-waltons.html
  8. It is made by JTC Fine Collectibles.
  9. Yes, it's supposed to appear weathered. There are scratches in the paint, and mud in the bed....didn't open the doors or hood since I didn't take it out of the package but it appears from other photos that the underhood detail is great.
  10. I bought this from a buddy who got it in a storage auction. Never been opened until I opened it for pictures. I didn't take it out of the plastic. Great detail and even has scratches and weathering like Sam Walton's truck. Not a lot of info out there, but from what I can find it seems that they were made for Walmart back in 1994. They were taken to top producing stores and auctioned off for the highest bid. Only store employees could bid, and they were not available for sale.
  11. Haha, no worries man.
  12. Never mind, just got one on Amazon for $50.
  13. I would love one of these but they are going for around $100 everywhere I can find them...someday.
  14. Yea, there are lot's of things missing. It's not done yet. That's why it's in the "On The Workbench" forum lol.
  15. It's actually a dark gunmetal silver/gray/graphite lol. But black works too.
  16. Almost done with this one...
  17. I was too lazy to order a can of Gotta Have It Green so I went with this shade instead....
  18. It was probably mine that was on Facebook. Hope to have some pics of it up today in the On The Workbench forum...
  19. Thanks guys. I used Sophisticated Finishes iron paint and rust activator.
  20. One of these days I will learn not to buy the old AMT kits because of the flashy new box art, lol....this one was built to look like something a rich teenager would have driven in the 60's...tried making it look like a sleeper...
  21. Not happy at all at how this one is turning out. The cab back split apart from the rest of the cab sometime after gluing it, and I didn't notice it until it was assembled. Glue on the windshield, etc etc lol. I'm kind of in a slump right now...few small details left and it'll be "done". 396 came from '69 Chevelle kit.
  22. The paint code should be M7278A from Ford...could cross reference it elsewhere maybe.
