anybody 3d printing 1/25 60s drag boats ?
chadrob30 replied to Jack L's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I printed and assembled the one from the link above. Top notch kit, lot's of fun to build. (the intake manifold is backwards but it is superglued in and I didn't want to bust the resin pieces) -
Yes it sure is!

Thanks fellas.

This started as the Revell 1957 Nomad kit. I 3D printed the Hemi and transmission, wheels, tires, front suspension, ladder bars, moon tank, seat and other small bits...I wish the chrome trim would have turned out a little better but I didn't have any bare metal foil on hand. Enjoy. EDIT-I just noticed that super glue dripped down behind the moon tank and onto the grill and bumper. Ugh. The build looks horrible up close

Hey fellas, I 3D print alot of wheels and tires for my kits. One issue I always have is the mounting of the printed wheel/tire to the kit itself. Alot of wheels don't have any kind of hub to mate the wheel to the axle. Can any of you point me in the right direction? I can probably make something in Tinkercad if I have the correct dimensions of the axle. Thanks.

Great build! Curiously enough, if you put that address into Google Maps there is a rollback there haha... -

Actually the decals came from the goofy MPC 72 Chevy ramp truck with the dual tandem axles... -

Thanks. Yea the cab, hood, and all of the ramp bed parts were very warped. I had to use a lot of super glue and clamps to get it to fit correctly. -

At $80 I will have to pass on this one. I've got a stack to keep me busy though. -
I'd estimate that 60% of mine was warped. Cab, hood, all ramp parts, chassis. I got it this far with gallons of super glue and a few strategically placed clamps.

F350 Ramp Truck....
chadrob30 replied to chadrob30's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Hood and body are both warped, but so have every Moebius Ford I have bought. These are more easily fixed with a bit of hot running water. -

I believe literally every person (that I have seen) that has posted theirs had warped parts in the box. -
Yes, everything you see in the photos came in the box.

Here is my take on the Chevy II Gasser....build was fairly straightforward....door handles bust way too easily, hope you have spares. Suspension setups are fairly fiddly, take your time and it will be fine. Blower is too big, or engine is too small. Taillight and reverse light assemblies are not easy to install...but I am half blind so that is no surprise. Not a period correct gasser but should pass as a replica or show 'n go weekend racer. All in all, great kit.

Looks good. Mine should be done tomorrow. I posted pics in the WIP Drag Racing section.
