  1. Both colors are silver and black from Duplicolor. Not sure what exact silver it is....I will look when I get home. I didn't realize the grilles were different between '83 and '84...
  2. Striping this car was a real b****....lol. Apparently my finger slid the wet decal on the front fender....didn't notice it until I had cleared it and took the pic. Grrrrr.....
  3. Thanks fellas. I agree about the grille. It's just sitting there for photo purposes lol
  4. Hey gang, yes I know there was no such thing as a '53 Ford Mustang, lol. This truck has the 428 out of a '69 Shelby and the front and rear suspensions out of a '66 Mustang. Still have lot's to do on it.
  5. Derp...yes sir, you are correct, I knew that....I was just testing you.
  6. Looking great! The hood is called a "pitchfork" hood.
  7. I like the look of the Shaker, but it seems it sits too far forward to me.
  8. You guys should check out A Faster Horse: Mustang on Netflix. It documents the new (then) Mustang from drawings and clay to the finished product, with lots of in-house footage.
  9. Just a quick update....Joseph contacted me and I ordered 3 sets of his white letter tire decals. They are awesome! Great guy to deal with too.
  10. From his page: Announcement: It is with mixed emotions that detailjunkess.com will be closing as a store this week. It has been a successful venture & one I am departing because it was growing into something more than I can simply handle at the moment. I decided it was best to bow out now, before I lose control & end up frustrating you guys with slow shipping & sloppily shipped orders. As much as I love to offer these unique pieces, I need to focus on a grander scheme for at least this year. I am a model builder first & boutique owner second. This year I will not have time to do both. The brand will carry on & I hope to drop a few cool pieces this year & still hook my people up. It'll have to be more in the style of a 'Pop-up Shop" though. Once I am completely caught up on my current orders, I do intend to close out my inventory and offer some goods on this page & "Layitlow Model Car Auctions" group pages as well. Keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, I will continue to be a part of the community and focus on building in my spare time. If anyone is interested in carrying my products, I am open to selling the rights to some & wholesaling to others. Thank you for all of your support & I'll see you around. I'm definitely not going anywhere.
  11. Thanks Mike. My first email from a couple weeks ago must've fell through the cracks. I sent another one yesterday and had a reply today. Decals ordered.
  12. Has anybody heard anything out of Joseph at Fireball? I have contacted him twice and have not gotten a response back either time. I am trying to order white letter decals for tires from him....
  13. Eh, it all goes back to the old saying that my great great great grandpappy used to say...."it's your model, build it how YOU want to"
  14. Found a picture of the box art error.
  15. Been around a very long time in different box art configurations. It was even called a 1970 on one edition.
  16. Looks good. I'd make it a taildragger if you are going to keep the skirts.
  17. Curiously, the Pro Street version shows both horns and a correct looking wiper motor, lol.
  18. Also, the chrome coil overs may be leftover parts from the GTX Pro Street version that would have been tubbed with coilovers.
  19. You are correct, the #18 part is actually the Roadrunner horn, and would be mounted on the radiator support or inner fender, and would be purple with "The Voice Of The Roadrunner" or similar decal. It appears the wiper motor is omitted from the kit. Good catch. PS, I believe some Mopars actually have two horns mounted on the radiator support...or so Graveyard Carz says, lol.
  20. Tyrone Price is an amazing model builder, he does mostly Outlaw and Pro Mod drag cars....look him up on Facebook.
  21. Ooops. This is an unfinished pic...no door handles...
  22. This turned out OK...it's no Tyrone build, but it's good enough for me lol...
  23. Looking good!
  24. Yes mid year '68 into '69 had the '68 hoods.
  25. Yes she does. Her brother (my uncle) owns a restoration business. He painted the car for her when she first bought it. They had the engine rebuilt at the same time. They put the engine back in the car, put the air cleaner on it, and shut the hood. DOH! They forgot to cut down the threaded rod that mounts the air cleaner to the carb....put a nice dimple in the brand new paint job....you can't see it in the pic but I know it's there LOL
