  1. Casey resurrected the thread. I guess when you're a bigwig you can do those things.
  2. Wow....now you just need to print up some wide load banners and red flags for the back end....awesome build.
  3. Looking good so far. I did notice your transmission linkage is a bit loose and your float bowl is stuck on carb #2.
  4. Always been a Chevy guy until my 10 year old totalled mine. Got a '98 Ford F150 now and so far so good. It's got 221,000 miles on it and still going strong.
  5. Any more progress?
  6. This was my first big scale build. It definitely had it's challenges, but it is a very good kit. I kind of mixed and matched the 3 different ways it could be built into my own style. Enjoy.
  7. Thanks guys. I was actually going for the Burnished color but all I could find locally was the Root Beer. I lost the mirror for the driver's door, it was not a mirror delete car, LOL
  8. Here is granny's grocery getter...she didn't know what she was getting when she ordered the 427. Car is a 1 of 1, ordered with Root Beer paint and camel interior with a 4 speed.
  9. Looks great. I drove the fueler version of the HEMTT in the Army, designated as an M978.
  10. Thanks Lindsay. The are from an Aoshima kit, but not the Hilux. They are from the Toyota 4Runner. They MAY be the same as the Hilux though.
  11. And this kit is 3x the kit that the Revell's are, lol.
  12. Yes, it was a bit frightening, lol. My wife looked up the dimensions of the 1:1 trucks, both long bed, and short. Then we did the scale conversion and the best we could come up with was roughly 3/4" of cutting. It all actually went very smooth except for the frame "rejoining". I didn't reinforce it good enough and after about 12 hours of it sitting on it's tires the frame started to buckle where I cut. I had to put some plastic inside the frame rails to "box" the cut area. After that it was all good. Great kit.
  13. Here is my WIP Meng F350. I cut 3/4" out of the frame, bed, driveshaft, fuel tank, and exhaust. It is just pieced together in these pics....this is a great kit. I highly recommend it. The wheels and tires are Aoshima. Paint is Duplicolor Cherry Red metallic. I will post finished pics in the Under Glass forum when it is done.
  14. Thanks Art. I know this. I was explaining to unclescott58 what the topic starter was talking about.
  15. The roof piece of the truck. It's separate in the kit. He wants to know if it would look "chopped" if he left it off.
  16. Yea, I got my cuts made, got the frame cut down etc. Tonight I will get some kind of mock up done with pics.
  17. I just got my Meng F350 yesterday. Has anybody cut the bed and frame down to make it a shortwide? I think my calculations are correct and I am just about to make the cuts. I wanted to see if anyone else had done this and if there were pictures available. Thanks.
  18. Yes, same dirtbags, different user names. Back in '06 or so I ordered the resin hop up kit for the then just released '05 Mustang kit. The hood, vent covers, ground effects, etc. Paid and never heard anything, never received a thing. I reported them to eBay and PayPal and got my money back. About 3 months later I got a padded envelop from TN. Lo and behold it was the Mustang stuff with an apology letter about Wendell getting "bit by a spider" and he was laid up and couldn't ship anything for the last few months. LMAO!
  19. My aunt has a '69 GTX identical to the one on the box art, except hers has a black vinyl top....and yes, the yellow one above is definitely a '69.
