Looks great! I like it.

Very nice. I love the detail work you put in this one. Good work.

Nice job. It looks great.

What paint was use on body, by the way? That’s one thing that’s stopped me from starting mine, is trying figure the right yellow color for that car.
-
Wow! That looks great. I need to get to work on mine one of these days.
-
Thank you, guys. I’m glad you like it.

Thank you guys for the kind words. It turned out okay. But, it was a pain to get it that way. In the end I’m happy with it.

I used Tamiya rattle can, PS61, Metallic Orange. And Future floor polish over that and the decals.

I too, despite my negative comments above, hope Atlantis keeps these kits coming. I’ll keep buying them. But, as note elsewhere, I have been accused of being a masochist.

Ah, good. I missed that. By the way, I’m wondering about the later 1990’s Schumacher Batmobile models? Does anybody know where they came from? Did Round 2 tool those up newly? Or did they get a hold of the Revell dies for these kits? I don’t remember seeing these under the AMT banner before.

Look up turd and model kit together in the dictionary, and this might be the kit you find. Despite that last statement, I’m glad I bought and built this kit. And it turned out as well as it did. As many of you know, this is old kit. Typically of Revell kits from back in the day. That day being the early 1960’s. And the reason I build mostly AMT cars kits back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. This kit does not stand up in easy of building as compared to AMT’s then contemporary, now classic, and fun to build, Double Dragster set. The thin plastic axles on this kit, are a perfect example of what was wrong with Revell car kits back in the day. In this build, on both sides of the rear axle, the plastic pins that hold the wheels on broke as I was installing the wheels. AMT’s metal axles may not look as accurate. But, they do a much better job of holding the wheels on. There were other minor things like that, that just made the kit a pain to get together. One thing that did help in building this kit, is Revell’s “Contacta Liquid Special” cement. It’s designed for gluing together chrome parts. It works perfect for areas were scraping the chrome away is not easy or practical. And it does not fog the chrome. So far, the stuff works great. This kit was actually finished in time to be seen at our December 2021 MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) meeting. Ive been so busy, its taken me a while to post it here. Despite everything, again I’m glad I bought and built this kit. I’ll continue buying and building these old kits mainly out of nostalgia. But, also for the challenge of building them. I learn from my mistakes. And, I’m a much better builder than I was 50 to 55 years ago.

Okay, I’m a masochist. Friends in the MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) questioned why I wanted to put myself though the torture trying build one? Nostalgia is the answer. I build one about 50 years ago. Despite knowing what the kit was like, I had to try it again. Plus I like old gassers and the overall look of the Henry Js in general. So I had to pick up and build Revell’s latest reissue. I actually finished this kit over a month ago. Back in early January. Before the cancelled January meeting of the MCCM. I did show it at our February meeting, back on the 9th. Ive been so busy, I haven’t had time to post it here until now. (I built the Atlantis Mooneyes dragster shortly after it came out. I haven’t had a chance to post that here yet either.) Well, the kit is as bad as I remember. Thankfully my modeling skills have improved somewhat in the 50 years since I built the last one. I think it turned out pretty good. But, I’ll let you be the judge of that.

??? Yea. They offered serval in the past. The James Bond ‘71 Mustang springs to the top of my head. And I know there have been others.

Revell 1971 Boss 351 Mustang
unclescott58 replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I’m glad to see so much discussion going on about this upcoming kit. For years i thought i was the only person out who liked ‘71-‘73 Mustangs. I’m glad to see I’m not alone. I’m looking forward to, and will buy the Boss 351. But, I'd be more interested in Revell doing a correct ‘71 Mach I with a 429 under the hood. I’m not interested in bashing the old MPC, now AMT, Round 2 ‘71. From what it’s based on, I like it okay. But, a nice model based on modern tooling can only be better. I will bash Ertl for what they gave us as a ‘71 Boss 351 in the day. That kit was terrible for what it supposed to represent. Revell’s upcoming Boss 351 can only be a step up from that abomination. -
I’m very excited about the ‘66 Mustang 2 + 2. I couldn’t tell, but I’m hoping it has the GT package. Particularly the grille with the fog lamps. The wheels they show make me think that its a good possibility. The Charger, and other kits, don’t really excite me. There’s some stuff they showed, that may end up in my collection. But not much. Which is okay. I have too many models as it is.

Finally got this one done! 1959 Buick.........Updated Pics!
unclescott58 replied to MrObsessive's topic in Model Cars
A beautiful Buick! At several Buick National meets I’ve been a judge of ‘58, ‘59, and ‘60 Buicks. I have a bit of a soft spot for those cars. -

USS Nautilus
unclescott58 replied to unclescott58's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Yea, DemBudders is a great website. Well worth the visit. I too have a soft spot for those old kits. Lindberg planes. Aurora monsters and other movie and TV based kits. Including the good old Seaview. I have both the Aurora/Polar Lights and the Moebius smaller versions. Fun stuff. Even if accuracy is not the best. I’d love to find one of the old Polaris subs kits, showing the interior, put out by Renwall first, then later Revell. -

This one is the Lindberg kit. Aurora, Lindberg, and Revell all tooled up kits of the Nautilus about the same time. DemBrudders.com has a good history on all three kits, and a good review on the present Atlantis kit. Plus some info and pictures of the real sub. It’s well worth going to their site and checking it out. They review lots of different model kits there. But not many car kits. -
Here’s a fun little kit. Atlantis’ (ex-Lindberg) USS Nautilus Submarine in 1:300th scale. A nice quick build. Painted in Tamiya’s semi-gloss black, from a rattle-can. This kit goes back to the mid-50’s when the Nautilus was brand new, and US Navy wasn’t interested in releasing much info on their first atomic submarine. So its not 100 percent accurate.

Interesting choice of Jaguar kits. If offered though other sources, I may consider getting it.
