  1. It will, actually, luster like that either way.....With or without primer.....Sprayed the trailer with it right over the orange.....Not like other paints, as it coats very well, and best applied in one coat.....Excellent stuff....
  2. These are all the paints I used for this one, Dave.....I used the Silver Foil Metallic for everything.....Looks good, huh?? And in ONE step....Paint it and walk away....And thanks, Mike.....I love those little figures....
  3. I saw that for the first time a couple of days ago and fell in love.....
  4. Good Flippin' Gravy!!!!! You've got one heck of a model, there.....Just a masterpiece in the making.....Too Awesome!!!!
  5. Thanks a lot, Guys.....I had a ball building it....I really like this one, and I'm glad y'all do too.....Thanks again, Fellas....
  6. Thanks, Guys....I kinda forgot about this one.....I appreciate your ever so kind sentiments....
  7. Well, Boys, I finally finished this thing.....There may be a little touchup to the trailer interior to be done, but it's mostly done.....I kinda wanna get started on something else, now.....Not that I'm bored with it, but I have a LOT of trucks to build.....If The Lord lets me live till I'm about 137, I think I'll get them all done..... Anyway, a few of you are familiar with this build, but for those who are not, I built this to "replicate" a truck that I see every day on my way to work......With a few added touches of my own, of course..... I gotta say.....Jerry's decals http://modeltruckin.com are the best I've ever seen.....Real high quality stuff, Boys.....Need some more of those..... Other than those, I stretched the frame, made my own fuel tanks, tool boxes/APU, and used jewels from HL for marker lights.....Some double diamond plate was added to the wheel wells and front portion of the trailer.....It just seemed like the thing to do..... I hope you boys enjoy it as much as I had fun building it..... Here it is with the fleet.....
  8. Hey, that IS pretty cool....Not to mention the overall awesomeness of this build.....Great work, and amazing how long some of those models hang around....I have a few of those models, as well.....
  9. Oh, yeah....That is a great looking build....Excellent work, Man.....Excellent work..... How you been, Earl??
  10. Of course, as stated by everyone, this model ROCKS.....But that base is pretty awesome, too.....
  11. You know, you may not have to strip it at all....Just get some Future floor polish and BRUSH that over it.....A lot of times, it fills in those little tiny imperfections that make it look like a dull coat.....It's worth a shot.....If it doesn't work, THEN I'd get to stipping.....
  12. Now, that's a great looking truck.....Outstanding!!!
  13. Great looking tanks, Man.....Just get the other ones out of your mind.....Think about what you can do with them on another project when they reappear next year..... Above, behind, under the work bench, or even in the shed where you put them down to grab that drink you left outside.....Been there....Done that.....
  14. Definitely can't wait to see how you tackle this one.....It would be nice to see this one "done right"..... Good luck....I, as well, will be watching this one.....
  15. Great looking project....Very nice weathering, too.....
  16. That's looking good, my friend....
  17. This is a good looking piece of work, here.....Great weathering.....
  18. Thanks, Clayton.....Can't say I'd really care to tackle that Freightliner, but you KNOW I like that Pete.....That DOES get me inspired.....I like that.....I've always wanted to do a United truck, anyway.....That looks as good as any.....That looks cool....A really serious truck.....
  19. I'm all over Walmart Flat Black....I use it as a primer.....Like you say, the price is excellent.....I use everything with a trigger attachment.....You can really paint a lot more without your hand cramping up...... Now, Home Depot's Flat Black...."Quick Color", also is only a dollar, and is a PERFECT match for Testors 1149 Flat Black.....It's the same "flatness" as the Testors paint, too......It's not as good a primer as the Walmart brand, but It's great for frames and mudflaps and anything else you might have to touch up after application.... Love the stuff......I bought a case of it, last month.....I, also, buy Walmart's brand a half a dozen at a time, as well, so that's not saying much, but you get the picture..... Now, Walmart USED to offer red oxide, but they discontinued it for some reason.....I'd stay away from their gloss paints, though....They tend to orange peel....At least down here in the Houston area with our humidity, it's doesn't do very well.....But that flat black and the gray primer is awesome.....I only use the flat black as a primer, because, even if the paint moves away from the corners and groves, it only leaves a natural "shadow" effect.....Meaning I don't have to use a black wash....I even use it as a primer for white paint jobs....It's awesome.... I enjoy experimenting on a budget.....
  20. Looking good.....Nice work on this thing.....Keep it coming....
  21. I was just thinking the same thing......This is a great engine..... I've tried my hand at this type of conversion, myself.....Mine came out ok, but it was a first attempt.....Used a Revell snap Pete for it....Not as detailed as I could have made it, but I was working on selling my late Mother's house at the time......The thread is in the "Under Glass" section....It's currently on page 11 under Pete 359 Toter Home with Funny Car, if you want to look....I won't hijack your thread.... You might find it interesting..... I'll, totally, be following this one.....Got a great start, already.....I want to build another one, soon....
  22. Very nice idea.....And very nice work, so far...
  23. Nice job.....Very nice piece of work....
  24. This is one of Toyota's best cars in my opinion....Awesome....Great job on the paint and details....
