  1. Has the US spec car ever been kitted or parts thereof ?
  2. Seems to maybe be a pattern; a continuation from precedent set on an earlier subject release They are a busy company, after all, with many things on the go; between vehicles and fantasy products, it's not surprising that an artistic impression slips through occasionally. Not that it's good for the reputation, mind you
  3. ... you may want to check out the '66-'69 amt falcons as well. They were actually tooled with the early shock towers. I believe missing link had a resin copy of that engine compartment on offer at one time. Hay Kevin! Got yer ears on ?
  4. That... is a real treat to look at. Amazing what a well chosen classy color combo can do for realism.
  5. What Tim said Neither Ford parts nor the Walker catalogs show anything but singles on the light trucks.
  6. There's one in their kits already, copied along with the engine from the amt 75-79 F-series kits. I believe the decal sheet has 4bbl markings for the air cleaner.
  7. The '75/'76 390s- last two years of the FE- had an optional 4bbl. That's the engine amt chose to replicate in their F350s -and call a 460- and the moeb engine is a pretty much direct copy of that.
  8. Your talent for detail applied to that project created a beauty, Mike Time for someone to supply an '85/'86 fascia... Change the time to 40yrs and this comment reflects what many thought of another fairly recent release with an original discussion thread ranging over 30 pages iirc. It was committed to steel with worse problems than this one
  9. That era of F-series never had stock 4bbl carbs, special exhaust manifolds or front sway bars either Maybe they could throw in the duals from the '72 so the builder could adapt them to the FE engine.
  10. Another rare one spotted on the auction site...
  11. A big thanks to Mr Milberry (cancon) for a long looked-for trade!
  12. Clean build, but unfortunately still toy-like in proportion and detail; the grill and cab roof contribute heavily toward making it a caricature of its subject. The coon-eyes were a '69 Ranger item. Wondered when that D60 would surface...
  13. Hope not... The upcoming amt fastback reissue will provide the most accurate body for one anyways
  14. In 59/60, the US pontiac front track was nearly 64" vs the chev at just over 60". Made the chev running gear very conspicuous on the cdn cars. By the the mid 60s, though, the difference was only about an inch per side; barely noticeable.
  15. That is excellent work, Steve. The only real differences in the sheetmetal would be the areas where they were adapted to the chev superstructure. The Parisienne etc are basically identical in size to the Catalina, Ventura and GP. The difference in wheelbase - 2"- is accounted for by moving the front wheels back an inch in the wheel opening and the rear wheels forward. Some years have a minor difference in overall length against the US model due to the bumper brackets adapted to the chev frame.
  16. As lightweight as the trumpeter falcons are in detail fidelity, they seem to be the only ones with an attempt at fair early shock towers; as compared to the moeb '65 comet engine compartment having been cobbed directly from the amt '66 fairlane/comet parts.
  17. For those interested in more detail, the 65/66 rally pac and a/c bezel are still in the mpc/amt '69 mustang kits. Easy to find anywhere on line.
  18. Scored this one last week. It was billed as an 'mpc 3n1 builtup', so at first I didn't pay it much attention. Then I decided on a closer look and suddenly the 'tells' started leaping out; window divider mainly, but there's three or four others, and I couldn't resist. Very reasonable price too, for an original amt '69 Mach 1 under all that green paint.
  19. Hmmmm ... just realized the blue chassis with the upper wheelhouse cutouts filled in makes it six distinct plates. It also now has a couple of short posts molded on the topside under the interior. Been around since the eighties, I think. I have gray and blue ones here. RH chassis from the countdown kit iirc. Will they hold the line on the chassis design with all the other revisions needed for the fastback or will we get revision #7?
  20. Dang shame that that 'oversight' from Ford kinda ebbs and flows...
  21. Dad was letting me drive his '69 Newport Custom all over town at fourteen with a learners permit. Test was in a '76 Colt. Surprised no one's thrown this in yet
