Gray plastic seems quite common to a lot of the newer releases; I've seen the box with the red car come with either blue and gray plastic.

Despite the fact that AMT captured most of the body proportions beautifully on these '69/'70 Mustangs, there is one small detail that stands out other than the quarter panel flaw that Tim has pointed out on the '70 body. The lower slot outboard of the headlights needs a tad of finessing... The front end looks a lot more accurate with just a minor careful lengthening of the lower slot toward the side marker light. On the 1:1, the rear edge of the slots match the marker angle. m

From what I've been able to glean from available info, it looks like '64 was the major transition year. It started with the oil filler and road draft tubes, evolved to the valve cover mounted pcv and vented oil fill cap along with the fully closed system for the CA cars. The trumpeter falcon would be about the only source I know of for a half decent scale generator setup. Only pic I can seem to find showing the original draft tube setup.

Obviously well insulated and a match for the cold. That pic reminds me of a cousin's experience with an in-box camper. Early one morning at a campground, a couple of young pranksters closed the tailgate on him and ran away laughing. Only has to happen once, or if you're smart, not even that ?

Just curious to know if anyone has done an accurate 3D print or taken the time to correct the proportion problems on this offering... It's definitely beyond the average modeler's ability but can be mostly done.

They could be ordered with all the variations Ford had...

MAD resin did a tailgate and emblems for the 65/66 trucks; the gate works on the 67/68 mercs as well. Grills are the same as Fords for all sixties Mercs; here's a great chance to improve the existing 68/69 grill and make it less toylike. A check on the US PS site revealed that base shipping of a roughly one pound box from most of the US to points north is about twenty five bucks, so I guess the rates I witnessed are anomalies. But they're out there if you look hard enough... I can still ship a kit south to anywhere on the continent above the rio grande for less than I can send one to the eastern half of this country for. It sure as heck will make sense to have one going forward to prove delivery if that site is going ahead with that payout plan. Of course, we could just be imagining things: what could go wrong with committing yourself to the Swiss watch efficiency of the ps?

That blue deuce on the original box sure is a fine build but it definitely ain't a flattie under that hood Sure beats the red one for appeal. Looks like the flattie has a C4 auto transmission.

Don't think this will improve your outlook any... now I'm hearing that the purchase price is withheld by the site until they have proof of delivery. Wow. Won't this warm the hearts of those that have had the splendid experience of tracking their items through six or seven states before they finally arrive

Not always... Key here is to ask... send the seller a note asking if they'll consider shipping regular basic mail. I'm guessing too many sellers are getting lazy, allowing the site to do their thinking for them and are just following prompts that benefit the site. I've seen listings recently that show shipping at basic rate to be about fifteen US.

Speaking for myself, I guess I'd rather have an accurately rendered scale representation, even with limited parts count and one grill, than four different grills to apply to a caricature of the subject ...

A slightly narrowed revell'69 windshield or maybe a '69 cougar front glass might be usable as well.

You're right! Pretty obscure info... never noticed the column difference for some reason.

No real conflict, Tim; the '63 brochure confirms the seats had gray upholstery. The '61/'62 seats were brown, and in '64 the range of colors went to four. This had no effect on the paintwork pre-'64.

You may be thinking of the standard gray GM truck interiors, Tim. It's true that these '61-'66 F100 series trucks had some gray accents, notably the cardboard headliner pieces and seat upholstery( some years), but the interiors were thoroughly painted in primary body color all the way through. The custom cabs had the extra white accents on the dash and doors. The only time the dash top changed to other than body color was with the optional black dash pad. '63 base cab with non-original upholstery and speaker grill. '64 custom cab with original seat. I've looked everywhere and haven't come up with a preserved original '63 seat pic yet.
