    32 Ford's

Hey Bernard... Happy New Year mate, thanks for the interest, it was a massive build for me & a lot of fun! The Track nose was a while ago & listed as the '32 Tracknose V12 if you can find it. Otherwise here a couple of pickies.. Hope it gives you ideas Brian

    32 Ford's

Love these Fords. They give you a nicely balanced styling point to start from & a great variety of body configurations. So many awesome builds showing up!!. Finaly get to see a Phantom Vicki completed since I only ever had bits..... Only done 2 so far but have a couple in the box waiting to go. The tracknose runs a flathead V12 Brian
  3. Only got four done - 2 almost out ofthe box & 2 definitely not Looking forward to seeing everyones builds next year The Mustang GTP - dead box stock The Holden powered Sprint Car (local GM motor) Shelby Series One Daytona Coupe The last one posted is the Vicki Have a good one Brian

    Duece Vicki

Ever finished a build but it bugged you that there was something not quite right about it. The lines on the Vicki just didn't flow I pulled the motor out & lowered it to match the body line & added a ribbed apron to the bottom of the grill to clean it up. If I find some chrome bullet lights I might add them later but I like it as it is Happy now, it can go into the cabinet & rest in peace. Have a happy Christmas & inventive new year Brian
  5. Good stuff! - really like the six & the tyres - Manx's have so much character, you can never run out of things to do with them Brian
  6. Doc... Have you posted any pics yet?? Can'y wait to see another interpretation Brian

Thanks for the great feedback - I think this is the first four seater I have ever done! Lee - Hemi is from an old Dodge Daytons kit (MPC?) - probably the worst body I have come across but the engine detail was good. I think the dash is from a mid 40's Ford... it was in the ol' parts box. Ron - Body, frame & grill were donated as an old build. I think it was a kit called the Phantom Vicki but I could be wrong. Here's the front end... Jim - My signature pic is a thing called the Ice Manx, one of my favoutire builds thanks. Randy - Wheels & tyres are from a local online mob called the Parts Box. I'm sure they would be happy to help you out Thanks again for the encouragement Brian

This one took a lot longer than I wanted but it turned out OK. Based on a Phantom Vicki body & grill (I think) I tried to do a front end that was different but still went with the style if you know what I mean - Maybe I should have rolled the fold line in the nose a little more but it looked good at the time! Hope it gives others ideas & yes, it is only supposed to have one headlight... I like asymetric look !!!! Hope you like it Brian
  9. Thanks for the feedback. It always helps when you try something different. Wheels are from "The Parts Box" an Australian mob that have a good range of resin bits available online. The wheels are clean & come with well detailed backing plates/brakes & hub caps. They also do a good range of front axles for rods that are reinforced with wire so even the thinest ones don't sag. Half the rod kit axles are too thick or have a steel axle through them which kills the look. Have a good one Brian
  10. Back to hot rods again thanks to a donated Phantom Vicki body & chassis. Hemi, artillery wheels, zedded chassis at the front & underslung at the back. Bit of fun doing a four seater. Just out of masking ! Thanks for looking Brian
  11. Hey Robert Revell put out the Kurtis Midget kits in two engine options - the Offy & the Edlebrock V8. They had two different noses & grills & thoughtfully provided both in each kit so I had spares !! The T Bucket came from the AMT '25 T Coupe kit. This has to be one of the most built kits of all time & probably worth a thread of it's own!! Funny thing was that the bonnets (sorry ... hoods) from both a T & an A didn't need much modification to fit the track noses. Then I thought about how they did it in the old days & I can see how an old hood laying around would be a good starting point for a nose cone. This is the Offy nose The Edlebrock V8 nose And if you can't get 3 models out of the AMT kit then you aren't trying !! Along with the Nascar T these are the other two from the same box Have a good one Brian
  12. I can't compete with a lot of this work, its just awesome, but I do like to scratch up some ideas. The chassis & running gear are all scratch under a kit Alison & '37 shed Again the chassis & running gear are one off with a little help from a T Bucket & a Nascar donk This is more of a kit bash but there was so much cutting & shutting that it felt like a scratch build Great idea for a thread thanks - I am getting a lot out of it Brian
  13. Sorry for the repeat Just read the bit where you already did the freezer bit. How well did it go. I have a barn find GT40 waiting for resto & a lot of the bits are quite small
  14. Have you tried putting the bits in the freezer? Only had a play at it myself but was a suggestion from the experts in my club. Brian
  15. Jaguar did do a 1:1 clay of a 2 door Mark 2 & it was probably one of the most beautiful Jags to me. I think they dropped it as it would have competed against the XK in the market. Really looking forward to following this one!! Always thought a Mark 10 would work too. Its pretty well a sled out of the factory but I don't think there is a kit of it. Brian
  16. I know.... Same as everyone else..... I'm in a rut. Love the rat rod. I have a sketch of one similar using a late model ute cabin which has me thinking Thanks for the good vibes Brian
  17. Very early days with this one. I have an AMT Rabbit (Golf to the rest of the world), tub & suspension from a March Indy car, the turbo four out of the Monogram Mustang GTP & some big wings. I'm heading to Pikes Peak. I have a rough idea of what I want but there are still a lot of fuzzy bits yet. Should be fun Brian
  18. "Fair go Bruce... Ya could have washed it before you photographed it mate". No joking... your builds look so real. Another good one!! Brian
  19. Great thread, awesome builds but ever noticed we don't seem to like putting drivers in our race cars?
  20. Thanks again for the comments Zee.. Welcome! This build started off as a Shelby tribute build for my local site but I took too long! Base kit is the Revell Shelby Series 1. Its a great kit to build even out of the box. Then I glued a roof on it & some flaired guards & some aero bits al la Group 3 Then I spent about 3 months filling & sanding. I finally got here And here... but it was all good fun Thanks for the interest Brian
  21. Ol' Number 1. My first scratch build Brian
  22. Street gang Brian
  23. Thanks for the kind words, particularly from the Shelby fans (always touchy playing with an icon) Lee, paint is Tamiya Racing Blue & Pure White. Wheels are Aoshima with bigger section rear tyres from the scrap box. The rest of the changes were scratch or scrap. Learnt heaps doing this one. Brian
  24. Finally finished this one & pretty happy with the results. Would look good on the track I think. Roof is from an old Toyota 2000 kit. For those who followed the build in the Workbench I would really recommend using the Viper roof as I couldn't get the side & rear screens as good as I would have liked. Thanks for looking Brian
  25. Finally had a go at masking this thing & it hasn't turned out too bad. Getting four parallel lines of tape over that bonnet (sorry.... hood) was murder. I have just stripped the tape off so it needs a bit of cleaning up but all in all, it works I think. Colour is Tamiya Racing Blue which is darker than Shelby used but I have a couple of other models I want to use the Shelby blue on. Detailing the rear deck is next, fuel cell, cage etc then it should almost be done. As you can see I have solved the wing problem with a curve & a high angle of attack! Hope you enjoy it Brian
