  1. OK My turn Some awesome ideas have been posted. So much talent & its always interesting how good stuff looks in primer... Keep 'em coming. '32 V12 Track Nose Corvette Streamliner Daytona Racer with turbine power Shelby Daytona Coupe & it's white primer!
  2. Well done mate I did the race version that Scuderia mentioned & it was a lot of fun. I also had a lot of similar comments that the coupe looked a lot better than the convertable. Makes it a shame that they didn't get round to building one for real. I used a Toyota 2000GT roof & always thought the Viper would have been a lot easier. Your choice of wheels is also spot on. Good stuff, keep them coming. Brian
  3. Totally classic.... paint, attitude... totally nailed & clean Good one mate, love it Brian
  4. Thanks for the awesome feedback gentlemen. Happy to share my bent mind with you all Scott... Ha! so someone noticed.... although getting the steering on the "correct" side wasn't a matter of national pride. The old six has its inlet ports on the left. After I put the blower, carbs & scoop on I figured the driver would need a periscope to see, so he got the side shuffle. Luckily the Corvette dash is almost symetrical. The Tamiya yellow turned out well. Its a good solid colour & shows up the body lines well. I'd recommend it. Thanks again for the encouragement Brian
  5. This started out as a part started donor kit (thanks Mate) The styling looked very clean without the chrome & screen & it reminded me of an early streamliner so that is what it developed into. Kept the six & supercharged it & I think its the right way to go. Headrest was inspired by a '50's Sebring Corvette I saw on TV recently & I shaped it to tie in with the the tail light fins. They seemed to have kept the paint schemes simple for the streamliners back then but I couldn't resist some flames! Colour is Tamiya Camel Yellow Had a lot of fun doing this one & it looks good on the shelf, something a little different for a Corvette I think. Brian
  6. Thanks or the good comments. Realy enjoying how this is turning out & I'm glad I kept the six. Colour will be Tamiya Camel Yellow with some red trim although I don't know what yet Body is almost done. Latest pics will give you an idea of where I'm heading
  7. This started life as a donated part-started kit (thanks Bruce) I didn't realise how close to a classic '50s streamliner the basic original Corvette was if you took off the screen & chrome work There will be a rigid single seat cockpit cover & fairing & some wheel spats if my scratch skills let me get that far. Keeping the six with a supercharger to keep it period The patches on the boot lid cover large holes I had to cut in the fold between the guard & boot to clear the wheels & keep it all low enough. Still a lot of body work to go obviously. Anyway it should be something different !!!
  8. Thanks for the comments gentlemen The sketch on the side of the box showed a nice chassis etc & thats why I bought it. I won't comment on the body.... And yes, it was based on the Garlitts kit which I don't think I have ever seen! Would be nice. One thing to think about. I don't know what sort of power they were getting back then but it was a hemi, it was blown & Garlitts was good so it would be big, then look at the chassis, short, light, single role bar & the kit has nice detailed drum brakes !! They were heroes! Thanks again Brian
  9. My first post in the Drag Racing catagory ! Started with the Hippie Hemi... threw the body into the parts box (good bits for custom pannels etc) & scratch built a little period flat wrap shell Nice, well detailed Hemi, looked good with the yellow block & simple black frame so I kept the decorations to a minimum. I know the Class is wrong but I liked the script! It turned out to be a sweet build & looks good on the shelf! Brian
  10. One of my mate Richie's favorite builds. Paint is Tamiya Lame Flake (PS-53) with five coats of clear. The photos don't do it full justice. It looks as if you touched it, the paint would ripple like water. Very clean build & the paint suits the styling I reckon Brian
  11. Thanks for all the positive feedback on Richie's first show. These two rigs are well worth a good look too. Finishes are superb & the added detail on the trucks & trailers just adds to the look. The Chev/Offy combo.. The Ford/Flathead duo, one of my favorite Richie builds Brian
  12. Sweet mate You do the best colour combinations. Good stance too Brian
  13. Typo... the Cutlass is Electric PINE not blue Duuuhh.... Brian
  14. Richie is a good mate of ours, foundation member of our little club & builds awesome models that we think you might like to see, so here goes.... A pair of '56 Nomads - same kit, one for day cruising - one for nights! Testors electric blue One Coat '72 Olds Cutlass. This thing looks even better in the flesh, very sweet. Not bad are they? I'll post some more soon Brian
  15. Mate! Another one of your usual, unusual colour combinations that work so well & produce such a realistic model. Its a gift! You'll probably be in trouble for not washing the midget before you put it on the trailer though!! Brian
  16. This was the AMT '96 Firebird Snapfast kit I got as part of a package on ebay. Being kerbside I didn't think much about it untill I decided to use it as an exercise to work out how to box the guards. It really needs another week of filling & sanding but I want to get onto something different. The original styling was smooth but I always thought the wheels & guards were too small.. Also moved the front axle forward a bit. Rear wing is stock, just moved back & down. Also moved the rear bumper back a little to increase the bulk at the back & get a more tapered line Hope you find it interesting Brian

    32 Ford's

Hi Rob Sorry I don't know what kit the screen came from. It was in a bag of donated parts. I narrowed it, hence the chrome strip in the middle & tapered the sides (vert nervy cuts!!) The photo shows its original shape so hopefully someone might recognise it for you. Ron Your build is beautiful. The devil is in the detail & what makes your build special is the consistancy of the detail all over the model. Gives me something to aim for. Thanks for sharing it. Brian
  18. Mate I have glasses & they still look good, particularly the last one... like the attitude Brian

    32 Ford's

Hey Bernard... Happy New Year mate, thanks for the interest, it was a massive build for me & a lot of fun! The Track nose was a while ago & listed as the '32 Tracknose V12 if you can find it. Otherwise here a couple of pickies.. Hope it gives you ideas Brian

    32 Ford's

Love these Fords. They give you a nicely balanced styling point to start from & a great variety of body configurations. So many awesome builds showing up!!. Finaly get to see a Phantom Vicki completed since I only ever had bits..... Only done 2 so far but have a couple in the box waiting to go. The tracknose runs a flathead V12 Brian
  21. Only got four done - 2 almost out ofthe box & 2 definitely not Looking forward to seeing everyones builds next year The Mustang GTP - dead box stock The Holden powered Sprint Car (local GM motor) Shelby Series One Daytona Coupe The last one posted is the Vicki Have a good one Brian

    Duece Vicki

Ever finished a build but it bugged you that there was something not quite right about it. The lines on the Vicki just didn't flow I pulled the motor out & lowered it to match the body line & added a ribbed apron to the bottom of the grill to clean it up. If I find some chrome bullet lights I might add them later but I like it as it is Happy now, it can go into the cabinet & rest in peace. Have a happy Christmas & inventive new year Brian
  23. Good stuff! - really like the six & the tyres - Manx's have so much character, you can never run out of things to do with them Brian
  24. Doc... Have you posted any pics yet?? Can'y wait to see another interpretation Brian
