  1. Hi Kurt Base kit was Tamiya with the complete drivetrain so the only mods from box stock were the wheels, guards, the intercoolers and the turbos. I like building up those complex looking turbo installations, they look very cool. Just came back from the World Time Attack in Sydney (check out the website). So many BIG shiny turbos in immaculate engine bays, talk about 7th heaven!! Thanks for the comments too. Brian
  2. Really like the rocket bunny style and the 360 lends itself to the flared guard treatment well. Guards from the Fujimi 'Over Fender' set. Paint is Tamiya Deep Metallic Blue. Wheels from a supermarket toy! Rear scoops feed the intercoolers & twin turbos. They may go..... Brian
  3. Very clean and very classy. Mods and paint work well together Brian
  4. Farewell gift from work. Tamiya 360 Modena that's getting the Rocket Bunny treatment. Guard extensions by Fujimi. Twin turbos and big wheels! Probably looking at yellow at the moment. Turbo placement is sorted, I just have to plumb in the intercoolers, exhausts and add the BOV pipes then the chassis is pretty well finished. Trick will be getting the ride height and guard positioning right because I want to paint the extensions separately to get the right look. Brian
  5. Sweet build mate! Stance and wheels make it look mean. Brian
  6. Different Porsche for you mate. Beautiful paint and the interior looks like the real thing. Another stunning model. Brian.
  7. Mate they have turned out so well. Always loved your club racers. Escorts, webers and minilites, how good does it get Brian
  8. Started with the Little Red Wagon kit. Added the extreme guard extensions from the Fujimi "Over Fender" pack. Chassis and power plant are from a1/20 Indy car kit. I used the bigger engine to pack out the engine bay a bit. I wanted to lower the profile but when I looked up some 1:1s with simple roof chops on the net I thought they looked out of balance so I kept the window section & lowered the whole roof turret into the body work. You can see the difference in the comparison with the orange race truck that has a standard turret but chopped from the bottom to get the lowered effect. I don't know if its a race truck, a custom or a time attack deviant but it was fun and I'm happy with the stance and balance. Paint is Tamiya Light Gun Metal by the way. Thanks for looking Brian
  9. Started this in the other on the other work bench site, think I've got it right now. Started with the Little Red Wagon kit. I thought about chopping the top but a couple of 1:1s on the net didn't look right so I cut the section below the window line and lowered the roof into the body. I think the proportions look about right now. The guards are from the Fujimi Over Fender sets and a pain to paint! Front end detail and interior are next. Brian
  10. Thanks again for commenting. Colour at this stage is dark red but I am thinking of some sort of contrast at the front, white or yellow, don't know for sure. I plan to detail around the engine with some frame work, tanks etc to make it more interesting and functional. Cover will be contrasting timber planking. Held up a bit waiting for the rain to go away but should get some paint on soon. Have a good one Brian
  11. Body is just about ready for paint. I think I'll keep the roof as is. The idea is good but I think the mass wont look so bad when its painted.. Brian
  12. Sweet mate. The colour brings out the lines so well. I wouldn't polish it too much. It looks real now. Well done Brian
  13. Starting with everyone's Lindberg's Little Red Wagon (hands up anyone who hasn't had one?) Wide body comes from the Fujimi "Over Fender Set". Base and drivetrain is Tamiya Lola T93 in 1/20, severely shortened! Not the first time I have mixed scales but it fits and this is a bit of a cartoon car anyway. About to start a lot of body work as you can see. I think the wheels came from a van kit but I'm not sure any more. I wanted to chop the top but I found photos on the net of real ones and the proportions didn't look right so I cut out the section below the turret and dropped it into the body. This gave me the lower roof line and kept the opening proportions. Happy to hear comments! Have a good one - Brian
  14. Thanks for the comments. I was a bit worried about posting it with the unfinished look so I'm happy you get it. That Corvair motor can work very well with a lot of hot rod ideas. I think some Porsche kits come with triple throat down draught webbers. That would look awesome. Brian
  15. This started as a donated body shell. Power is a supercharged Corvair which I think looks pretty cool. I got used to the scrappy yellow body while I was building it & couldn't decide on a final colour so I just left it "unfinished". Tried out a few ideas like the exposed framework and rear seating position, stuff I might use on later "finished" projects. Something different anyway.... Brian
  16. Great models here This was one of my first and still one of my favourites. Brian
  17. Awesome build mate. The photos could be of the real thing. Well done Brian
  18. Don't know what I did wrong but the photos disappeared. I have now learnt how to edit & they are back.... I hope. Thanks for the comments too. Brian
  19. Sorry for the triple hit.The site kept telling me it didn't take. Happy to see he extras removed thanks Brian
  20. Been playing with this for years. Supercharged hemi in a two seater Indy roadster... A US Super 7!! Its one of those builds that was painted & stripped about four times. Its finished now, as soon as I find the radiator hose. Its on my desk here somewhere... My camera has died so its phone cam or nothing these days but you get the idea! Brian Having another go!
  21. Wicked little beast! Great stance and wheel detail. The paint scheme works too. Great model Bruce. Brian
  22. Updated Cobra with more modern interior, dash and power plant. This model has been hanging around for a while waiting for a solution to the guard extensions. I wanted something different to usual 429 style bulges. I'm a big fan of the Rocket Bunny style and found the Fujimi "Over Fender" sets that had stacks of guards and bits. Good value! Wheels are from a diecast Lambo. Colour scheme suggested the title. Happy Christmas all Brian
  23. Pick of your Porsche collection so far I think. Contrast between the body black and wheel black is really effective. Beautiful model mate Brian
  24. Beautiful build! Great stance & detail. You must have a very awesome Porsche collection now! Brian
