Figured I would show a picture of my daily driver. It is a 05 mustang with a v6 and a five speed. Added the gt package. I drive it daily to work 100 miles round trip. Has 180,000 miles on it amd going strong. Fun to drive and 26 mpg as well.

What makes a pro modeler a pro ?
azers replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build models, have won contests, best of shows and sold some of my built models. But i have never considered myself a proffessional or listed my builds as pro built because i am always learning new things in this hobby and there will always be builders out there that are better than i am. Thats the fun part of this hobby IMOP is bettering myself through practice. And learning new things from friends. -
The indy 500 firebird by amt has a twin turbo v6 and its a little on the smallish side and 1/25 not 1/24 like the grand national.

When i two tone i always put down a couple light coats of clear over firsf color. Let that set up a day then mask and shoot the second color then unmask and clear the whole thing. Accomplishes two things, helps prevent tape damage to first color and if there is a little bleeding under the mask you can sand your paint seam and take care of any overspray without damaging the 1st coat. Because the clear protects it.

Yes I am going to leave the toronado front wheel drive and just detail it. The plan is to detail it out and keep it as much toronado as possible. I like the picture so well i plan to keep this project as close to the picture as possible. I decided to keep the hood stock and just lengthen the nose ahead of it. Also the daytona nose and superbird noses are slightly different, so in using the daytona nose it flows more with the body. I did a lot of measuring before i cut and trimmed so the nose would not look so short. Thanks for the comments. Ill post more pictures as I get more into it.

My daytona version

After seeing a picture in the what if section of a toronado crossed with a superbird i decided to put a old builtup to good use. I took a old built up of a 1967 toronado and the remains of a revell daytona kit and combine the two. I lowered the front to level the car. I found matching wheels in the parts box. I plan to reuse the as much of the built up as possible to stay close to the picture.

Airtight cases can also seal in the evaporating paint and glue solvents causing issues with your paint and glue joints. I drill four small holes in the bottom of the, case under the model and open up a groove in one edge so when i shut the case up the fumes have a place to go but keeps the dust off the model.

Also try the new modelmaster washes, they come in a stain and in a wash by themselves. And they do not need to be diluted. -
The old amt and mpc camaros from. The 70's still command a high dollar, the nice ones rarely go for under 100.00. The amt and mpc 68 and 67 camaros go fo high dollar as well. I would like to see round 2 reissue these.

I do my model painting and body and prep the same way i do my 1:1. Prep and prime, then i guide coat and sand to find low spots. I fix those and keep priming and sanding till i can paint. Then i paint and clear then polish.

I'n looking for a supplier for the decals for a 74 and 77 Z/28 camaro. Ideas. Thanks in advance.

I suggest dark and light grays with orange accents. Or various shades of metallics with orange highlights to mimic the engine and frame details. By the way nice work so far.

How much work did it take to get the diecast grill and tailights to fit the amt body. All the maisto diecast camaros i find are 1/24. And the amt kit is 1/25. Hope you don't mind the questions as i am really interested in your build which looks fantastic by the way.

Someone once made ss grills and accessories for 1/25 amt, mpc 1967,68 camaros. The hidden headlights. I bought some a while ago but can't find my info from whom. Anybody here know where i can find resin ss conversion parts for these kits. Thank you.

1/25 69 Camaro plain flat hood to fit Revell?
azers replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Amt and mpc hoods interchange from 67 through 69 but i havent been able to get the revell to fit or visa versa because the hood is really thin on the edges on the revell and thick on the edges of the amt mpc. -
Yesterday in seattle was 85 and sunny. Today is 50 and cloudy. Oh well. Pacific northwest weather, if you dont like it wait 5 minutes it'll change.

I look upon the forum the way i do my business. I have a lot of diverse people with me. If everyone thought the same way it would be very boring. I think diversity on the forum is good that way you can get many different opinions. I for one enjoy the interaction on the forum. I haven't really noticed any issues either. One thing we don't need is someone fanning the flames of discontent.
