I completely agree! There are way to many dogs in shelters all over world. Our current dog, Rider, was our first rescue and we will never go to a breeder again. It absolutely kills me to walk through a shelter, I wish I could help all of them, but I know we did our part by saving one dog from a life of misery. That is one of the few things that really gets me right in the heart, to see a dog, cat, or any animal for that matter so depressed and sad in a cage like that. I know shelters do all they can, but it is still tough. Good on everyone who adopts, it really is the smart choice.

No kidding. Whatever happened to that show? It used to be my favorite years ago, there was actually quite a bit of substance and meaning to that show.

Yep, gives the cops a head start on busting you.

I love this thread!

A classic one I heard form a friend was when someone saw a Honda motorcycle. Their reaction was, "that can't be a Honda, they only make cars!." Sometimes I wonder why people bother wasting air.

Baja 1000 death, RIP Kurt Caselli, new information
JM485 replied to JM485's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well, there is a bit of a good update about this. Apparently his team found damage to his bike that suggested he hit an animal of some kind, not a human created trap. It is likely he hit a cow, deer or other large animal. I feel a lot better knowing this was not a preventable death, and was basically a racing incident, but I am also still incredibly saddened that we lost such a great ambassador to the sport. Ride In Peace Kurt. -
As the title suggests, offroad riders have lost one of their greatest competitors today at the Baja 1000. Not a lot of details yet, but apparently he was in first place when he hit a boobie trap set in the course. He apparently died of head trauma shortly after the crash. I didn't follow his racing closely, but I often saw his name in offroad headlines, and he is considered one of the best dirtbike riders in the world. From what I have read, he was also a great person and competitor, not to mention extremely talented on a motorcycle. While we all know the risks involved in races like this, it really blows my mind that one of the greatest riders in the world lost his life in such a tragic and preventable way. I didn't realize that traps like this are so common, where apparently locals often rob the downed rider after they hit the trap, but losing someone in this way is just not right. I can't imagine how low of a person you would have to be to intentionally make a rider crash, and not think of the possible consequences of it. It was on my mind tonight so I thought I would bring this to everyone's attention, my thoughts and prayers go out to his team and family. RIP Kurt.

They definitely don't build them like that any more. Try that with your new truck and see what happens. -
Really guys, don't you think this could have been accomplished through PMs? It really taints the positive message of this thread. Thank you to all of our vets, we are truly grateful.

That deadline is getting close! Unfortunately, there is no way my Ferrari will be done. Haven't touched it in over a month because of school.

Amateurs. Give me your car and I'll show you what parking is all about!

They don't take out the muffler completely, they just remove the fiberglass packing that lines the inside of the muffler. Any serious rider would quickly tell you that you are losing power by doing this (back pressure creates bottom end power), but some people just think it "sounds super awesomely cool bro"

As for the loud pipes on motorcycles, I would have to argue that they do save lives. A large number of drivers pay absolutely no attention to anything around them, which is why my parents want me to stick to riding on dirt, so at least the pipes help a little. Now, for the people reving their bikes at stop lights, they are just posers. On the other hand, I hate when people put loud pipes or take out the muffler packing on their dirtbikes. One of the biggest land use issues we face is noise, and it only takes one moron on a four-stroke with a less than adequate muffler system to get a track shut down.

I think I like the black one more. Not that the white one looks bad, but the nose just looks a little weird to me. -
I hear you, it can be pretty frustrating some times!

Looks good! If you are open to suggestions, you might want to consider painting the recessed area of the rims black. It makes a huge difference in the overall look, and I think it could really add something to your already nice build. Here is what I am talking about:

That's pretty cool, I like it a lot!

Awesome, looks like it came out great!

Wow, that is an awesome thing to do. Like stated before, what matters is that you made it, not to mention it looks very well done also!
